Quick Birthday Trip at the Magic Kingdom!!!

So, I got my list of what to pack, I guess I can start getting things towards the suitcase....I feel like I gotta do SOMETHING!! I know weird, right? :lmao: I keep asking my Dh, poor thing is probably ready for this trip to be over with...cause I keep asking him..."which board shorts do you want for the pool?" And which shorts do you want for the parks, etc. He always tells me he's not thinking that far out just yet. It's crazy!! Men don't think like we do I guess!! :lmao: SO....what is ya'lls take on it? I made sure I got my prescriptions on the list, as well as beach towels, swim suits, and toothbrushes, fanny packs, as well. DH just thinks I'm NUTS!!! :rolleyes1 Am I?? :confused3

I've been looking at cakes today...I think I'm leaning towards a 10 inch for the both of my guys at KONA for dinner....chocolate with the chocolate peanut butter filling. I'm not too into peanut butter, but I think I can suffer thru it! :) Just gotta call and order it at the 2 week mark. I really hope they can deliver to Kona!! I guess I give them our ADR # and time? I've never done that before!! :)

NUTZ....Oh no, you are not nuts. I got my suitcases out of the attic a few weeks ago. I'm not packed yet, but I did throw a majority of our summer clothes into them , so they are all in one place when we're ready to pack.
I have a small suitcase out though, with everything i've been picking up, like all of my travel size stuff, like, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, deoderants, sunblock etc... All of the new clothes i've bought and shirts that i've made are hanging up in my room. So everything that's coming with us, is all over the place right now. Which makes me feel a little nervous, maybe i'll have to start packing that all up very soon.

My dh thinks I'm nuts, but hey, he married me, right? LOL I got SOME trial size stuff, just need little deoderants and shampoos and small things there. Not buying new stuff for this trip, just the September trip. I just want to keep things straight, and surprising for DH, cause he just rolls his eyes when I tell him things that are happening...so hopefully my plans and little surprises will be nice for him. Plus, he'll have my dad there, so they can talk "guy stuff"!!

SO I ALMOST got the suitcase out this morning to put things like the fanny packs, beach towels, etc in there. Just to get started, but every time I take out the suitcase, the cat goes nuts!! So, I decided against it, so I wouldn't scare the cat. I do have a few things in a pile to start going IN there, but nothing in the suitcase as of yet. I do need to sit down with my journal, and finish up my list of things we need pictures of....maybe I'll get that done this weekend, and get the suitcase out, and start the slow, painful venture of packing! My only problem, is DS is growing out of stuff like crazy!! The boy is eating me out of house and home, and he's only gonna be 11!!! I can't imagine what it's gonna be like in a year or two!! Anyways...thanks for being here for me, ya'll are the only ones that are helping me stay sane with all this!!

I'm soooo happy, cause now we can officially say we're going
NEXT MONTH!!!!! :cool1: I did start putting some stuff together this morning, the beach towels, cameras I got from Kelloggs, those are sooo cute!! And my tigger ears. I also brought out the toiletries bag to see what else I would need, and got that list going!! YAAAAY NEXT MONTH!!!!

You should post some pics of all of your neat stuff. I'm glad we can finally say we are going next month!!!! YAY!!

So, I was sitting here at work, thinking as I usually do, and was thinking about this May trip, and lo and behold, I emailed my DU lady to see how much more it would be to upgrade to a cabin at FW!!! :lmao: I'm just paranoid that we won't get the connecting rooms at ASMu!! So...we'll see what she says.

I didn't think about taking pictures of all the neat stuff...I've had the tigger ears forever....and the cameras are just the disposable ones they're offering on the Kellogg's cereal box...I'll take pictures sometime soon, Got my step daughter for the weekend, and we're heading to Sea World tomorrow!!!! :cool1: So I'll definedly take lots of pictures of that!!! So, we'll see what this upgrade brings, my dad and DSM are definedly outdoorsy camp type people...so they'll LOVE it there, it's just how much more!! It's only 2 nights it can't be that much more, right?? :confused3 Tell me ya'll go thru this resort change bug too....we hit 45 days tomorrow, so whatever we do we gotta pay for it right then!!! :scared:

I change my mind on which parks, where to stay, how to get there and what to do almost every day. I have new bright ideas  all the time. Then I end up going back to the original plan :lmao: Hope you have great time at Sea World this weekend. Be sure to post some pics!

I'll post some pics, had a disposable camera this time, so I gotta get them developed, then scanned, then downloaded to photobucket, etc. I'll have DH work on that this week! It was fun, it's DEFINEDLY No Disney, but fun!

Hi Christie! How was the trip to SeaWorld? If you don't mind me tormenting you, can you tell me which beaches you would recommend on the gulf and ocean side. I know you told me the ocean side before but I can't find the post. We haven't decided which coast to visit yet. Thanks so much for your help!

Leanne

DH is now OFFICIALLY above the cutoff to make CHIEF!!! :cool1: :cheer2:
So, what that means is now we wait for the advancement message to come out with him on it. This is a pretty big deal for the military, since he's going from E6 to E7. SO, he's 3 away from advancing, so we're guessing June for him to make Chief!!!! YAAAY!!!! I'm soo proud!! :cloud9:

I would recommend New Smyrna. I don't know a thing about the west coast beaches, but New Smyrna is very nice, you can still drive on it. Daytona is usually crowded, and it's the same type of beach as New Smyrna. Daytona does have the boardwalk with arcade games, and smaller rides and stuff, but you'll get better rides at Disney. I do NOT like the beaches here in Brevard county BUT, if you did want to come over this way, Jetty Park would probably be the best bet, it has jettys that you can fish off of, and the beach area, and you can go out and watch the cruise ships come and go, if it's on a weekend, I think they normally leave on a Sunday....So, first pick, New Smyrna, and second Jetty Park. Whatever you decide, I can give you directions to either one. Again, I know nothing about west coast beaches, I do know the waves aren't as big on the gulf as they are on the atlantic side, but that's it, couldn't tell you where to go. HTH!!!!! Happy Deciding!! :) I like the beaches, but would rather go to the pool! But that's just me.

Congratulations!!!! :cheer2:

Thanks, I'm just SOOOOO proud, he's worked hard for this. His dad wants pictures of him in his uniform, and I told DH to wait until we put the chief stuff on, his dad retired from the navy as a chief, and his brother retired from the army as an E6, so just shy of E7. It's ALOT more money per month, like 500 to 600 more per month :woohoo: I'll post the sea world day next, after lunch, even tho I haven't gotten the pictures back yet, but I'll post the day, and the pictures to follow!

Thanks for the info. I think we will check out New Smyrna. You'll have to pm me some directions when you get a chance. I"m leaning toward the ocean rather than the gulf because the girls have never seen it before. I prefer pools too! Much cleaner...lol. Thanks again! It's good to have a FL connection. :)

Okay, sorry, no pics yet, did the disposable camera thing, have to get them developed. I hate that, haven't had to do that in forever. BUT, that's alright!!

Anyways, we left the house at about 7:30, got there at about 8:15, had to sit outside the parking gates for a bit, since they don't open until 8:30. And the people in the cars trying to squeeze into where ever they can...just rude!! Anyways, we finally get up to the ticket place, had all 4 of our ID's out, they did check ALL 4 ID's, if you didn't have a military ID, you HAD to pay for a ticket, saw that with people in front of us. So, we get in, walk over towards the stingrays, DH needed a smoke after just getting into the gate, which he doesn't do too well with crowds, so I give him that smoke!! So, we go over towards the stingrays, dh smokes, and I consult the map to see where we wanna go. The kids wanna ride the coaster, so we head over that way. It was a tad bit chilly that morning, so we didn't do atlantis right away, went over to Kraken, and it wasn't up yet, so we went to go thru the penguins. Got a couple of good pics of the penguins....and one of the puffins was swimming and flapping around like he was on crack!! It was funny just watching him. So after the penguins, we go towards the sea lions, they were being vocal, and one was enjoying the sun, and falling asleep with his head in the air!! Got a pic of that one too!! :rolleyes1 So, we watch them, and then hear screaming from Kraken, so we decide to go back that way. It was about 9:45 when we got in line for that, and we got in the line for the front row!! :woohoo: Waited about 10 minutes or so, and got on. It was awesome!! I LOVE sitting in the front row on them big coasters!! It was fun.

So, after Kraken, we head right over to Atlantis, now this one is a water ride, takes you on a boat/coaster thing, big drop, etc. NOT as big as splash mountain, but along the same lines. So, that was pretty much walk on, we waited MAYBE 3 boats to board, and I had this bright idea for me and DH to sit up front.... Yea....wrong idea! :headache: Since we had ALL the weight in the front, we go down the big drop, and the front of the boat digs into the water, creating this MAJOR wave coming over the front of the boat :scared1: So, Dh and I get DRENCHED!!!!!! It was fun tho. This is where I'm glad we didn't have the digital camera!!! :scared: So, we get off that, go to let dh smoke again....dang smokers!! and TRY to wring ourselves out, and decide to go to the dolphin show.

We go get a drink, before going to the dolphin show, got in line about 50 minutes before show time, so we stood there for about 20 minutes, which is a good thing cause the line got LOOOOOONG!!!! I was talking to a nice older couple from up north, who were very nice. DS was telling them all about the fish he caught, etc. So, we go into the dolphin seating area, 30 mins before show time...and just enjoying the sun. Well, enjoying the sun a little TOO much. I got a little burnt, and being a florida girl, I should know better :rolleyes1 But, the sun felt GOOOOOD!!! We were seated about 3 rows up, and had a good view of things from there. The dolphin show was AWESOME!! It had people acting, live birds, divers, dolphins, just awesome!! BEST dolphin show I think I've EVER seen! We leave from there at noon, and decide it's lunch time. Went to the BBQ place, and we got chicken, didn't get pics of the food :sad2: but it was REAL good!! Took our time, and then decided to go over towards the sharks, and then to the sea lion and otter show. I got some good pics of the sharks, and then we sat in line for the next show about 1/2 hr before they opened the ropes for that.

The sea lion and otter show was a HOOT!! They had miscues from the animals everywhere, and the actors had to kinda ad lib a little bit. It was funny. Once we were done there, DH was feeling his head burning, so we had to go get him a hat, and DSD's shoulders were burning, so we went and bought sunscreen. DO NOT have to buy sunscreen in the parks!!!!! It was $9 for a small tube!! :scared: So, we lather her up, and go on our merry way. Went over towards the shamu's happy harbor, but the kids are now too tall. Didn't want them to run over the small kids, so we got a drink, and sat for a little bit, which 4 drinks cost over $17!!! I kept telling DH all day that "this isn't no Disney" And he actually AGREED!!!! Things were MUCH more expensive there then at disney!! Anyways, after that we head over towards shamu, and it was PACKED, so we went over towards the polar bear exhibit and ride, the wait was 45 minutes, so we just went in and saw the animals, and didn't do the ride. We also saw the COOLEST performers outside of the polar bears, there were 3 drummers on stilts, and 2 other guys on those boucey feet things, and they were bouncing, and flipping, they were cool. I got some pics of them too!! So, after that, we had dh go smoke again, and we were all tired. It was about 4:45 at this point, and I was tired, and it was CROWDED, so we decided to call it a day. It was fun, the weather was GEORGOUS!!!! I could only hope for weather like that in May!! Anyways, that was our day...it was fun, we were tired, didn't get to do everything, but got the big rides for the kids in, and a couple of shows. Dh likes the sharks, and Definedly NO DISNEY!! Had to HUNT for garbage cans, and the smoking areas, but that's alright too!! It was fun. Once I get the pics developed, I'll post them!

Also, DH just called and said my camera was in!!! WOOHOO!!! I'll take pics of that tonight. He also got the call from the clinic on base saying his Zyban was in, so he can quit smoking!!! YAAAY for him!!!!! I'm so proud!!
