Quick Annual Pass Question

Just call MS - I had lots of trouble with the website, too. Finally gave up in disgust! The CM at MS was very nice. I had my voucher in about a week.

Best wishes-

There is one little problem. I just talked with MS this Monday, twice, and they DON'T give you a voucher they (now?) give you a confirmation number. This confirmation number is not good for the DDE. It is only good to redeem your AP when you get to WDW.

When I learned of this I called DDE and they confirmed that DVC doesn't give the voucher only a confirmation number. She then went on to tell me that when we arrive and get our AP's we can call DDE directly on the first weekday to get a temporary DDE card. In our case let's say we got our APs' on Sunday, Monday morning we call DDE and they will have our temp DDE cards ready by 5:30 that evening at Epcot.

Hope this helps and doesn't cause more confusion. Remember just get sprinkled with a little :wizard: and all will be :cool1: !

Does this include APs ordered through the DVC Member link on the website? I will be a bit disappointed to get "just" a confirmation number especially after paying $3.00 for shipping.

If I'm understanding this correctly, I'm not liking this at all. We're arriving late afternoon on a Saturday and we have an ADR for dinner that night and the next night also. Does this mean I have to go the whole weekend without the use of the DDE? Someone please say it ain't so!!!

They must have just started doing that because we got a card type voucher for the AP when we ordered it about a month ago, and ordered the DDE card today for our Sept trip using the voucher.

if they don't give you a voucher or voucher then you couldn't even book with AP rates (given the new process) now until you have an activated pass...surely they are mistaken

This is directly from the dvc website:

"When a Premium Annual Pass is ordered an exchange certificate will be sent by mail."

I don't think anything has changed, but I have been wrong before.

I ordered a PAP from member services yesterday and asked what I would get in the mail. I was told I would receive a voucher. I asked for an order confirmation number and couldn't get one. Why would I get a confirmation number for the pass? I paid for express shipping so I hope this info is incorrect.

ETA: I just realized that most likely the confirmation number is for someone using the "will call" option when ordering.

kaseyC that was my understanding. Sorry.

Luigi's Girl the CM at DDE basically told me that was exactly how it would go. We too are arriving late Saturday and won't be able to get our DDE card until Monday afternoon. That is a lot of missed out discounts.

oogsdaughter I too hope I am proved wrong... again. Someone please prove me wrong. :earseek:

JohnNJ you may have just proven me wrong. But I didn't ask for the will call option, we are using that for our MNSSHP tickets. I specifically asked her if I would get a voucher number so I could order my DDE card.

Again someone please prove me wrong.... Ok maybe I'll call MS in the morning and grill the first CM I get. :smooth:

Until then lot's of :wizard: :wizard: for everyone!

UPDATE:

I ordered a PAP from member services on Wednesday with the express shipping option. Today I received a Fedex envelope with a green credit card sized exchange voucher. The voucher has a number on the back that can be used to purchase the DDE card.

When you get the vouchers how do you go about getting the DDE? Can you purchase the DDE card as a voucher and have that activate at the same time as the annual pass? or can you purchase the DDE when you arrive at WDW ? Thanks for any help
DD

We received our vouchers a few months ago and I just ordered the DDE last month. It is not a voucher. It is valid for one year from the month of purchase. They told me that it took 4-6 weeks to process (from date ordered) but they would give you a temporary pass if you were visting WDW before you receive the card.

Thanks for the update. I am hoping we will receive vouchers as well so I can order the DDE card in advance.

You will definitely receive vouchers. Ours just came yesterday. :)

I also did the voucher for annual passes for this past trip. Brought them in May but had them held at the will call so that I didn't leave home without them. It also helped spread the cost of the vacation over more billing cycles. It gave me a little extra time to put spending money together.

for proving me wrong!!

Now I'll just on the horn and call MS back and get this all fixed.

I just received my "Mickey Monitor" yesterday, and I noticed they had blackout dates listed.

I was not aware that there were blackout dates on the AP. It looks like in 06, pretty much the entire summer, and the holidays.

We don't usually go during any of those times, but I had no idea there were blackout dates with the AP! Am I a dope?!? (If I am, you can tell me nicely!) :flower:

Really? We were planning AP's for next spring break, summer and next Xmas-we cant even use them?

Blackout dates apply to FL resident seasonal passes. DVC-discounted Annual Passes are valid 365 days / year.

I ordered my PAP the other day too and was told I would get the (green) voucher and it would be affective from the day I first use it; which will be Dec 9th in my case.

Thanks tjkraz, thats a relief.

In everyone's opinion, is it better to purchase the ap's over the phone or online? and why?
