53 days to go ,depart to wdw 23rd october we expect queues during half term week but are they as bad as the summer months we have only visited June/July in the past and were hoping that it may be a little quieter in october .Any views??

Hi mezrock,

Half term week means diddly squat to the queues. The key is to avoid american holidays. You will be pleasantly suprised by the shortness of the queues. The parks are definately quieter. In my opinion one of the best times of year to go with the added bonus of Halloween. (Less rain fall than summer months too...)

We have been during October half term and the queues are just fine. We made use of Fast pass for peak times of the day.

We found it very pleasant in October, queues not too bad at all.

October is our favourite time of year to visit WDW, although in 2002 the crowds were noticably busier than the first couple of times we visited during October. Having said that, they were still insignificant in comparison with those we experienced in July this year. As you're used to visiting during the summer months, make use of FASTPASS and avoid EMH days, and the parks will seem quiet.

We've always been lucky with the weather, too, although it's not guaranteed - the Florida weather is as unpredictable as ours.

We weren't blown away by MNSSHP, although it's probably worth doing once. We do enjoy HHN at Universal - the "Bill and Ted's" show is definitely not to be missed. Without a doubt, though, the best reason to visit Orlando during October is the International Food and Wine Festival at Epcot.
