I read somewhere that in the 28 years of the ride, there were 2 deaths.

I heard that someone got out of the moving car and then got stuck under the tracks or something like that.

Yeah, in both incidents, people were jumping from car to car and fell out and were run over by on coming cars. Its sad, but they should have followed the safty rules and stayed seated.

The People Mover is actually the deadliest ride in Disneyland as far as guests being killed on it goes.
2 people have been killed on it. Both were on grad nights and both were jumping from car to car, showing off, and both got crushed beneath an oncoming car. The one at WDW is propelled differently with the result its track looked far more forbidding to a would be show off. It also moves faster than the one at DL did. That probably also contributes to people NOT wanting to hop off that one.

Only 3 of the 9 occurred on rides you'd think were of the more dangerous variety. Only 2 of the 9 were not the fault of the guest.

There are legends that someone was scared to death on the haunted mansion and that Disneyland closed its skyway due to a death and a lawsuit there but both of these are false.

Okay! When you said unfinished it didn't occur to me since that ride was finished. It just has nothing there now! I though you meant one that was going to be built but never was!!!

Yes, I miss the People Mover, It was a great ride that took a while so you could take a break! You could also see into Space Mountain from it!!
