Questions: when is US Spring Break?

Hello Everyone!

I finally get to go back and visit DLR! We have a 2 week+ Road Trip planned from Canada - we will be in Anaheim very late on March 3 and leaving early on March 10.

My number one question is: When is the US spring break?

Will Nemo be impossible to get on at that time?

I am by no means an expert, but I myself asked this question a week ago!

Apparently each school division can take it's spring break at different times, so spring break season encompasses most of March and some of April as well.

Your best bet, from what I have heard (and someone pls correct me if I am wrong) is to be there at park opening on a non-early entry day (Wed, Fri or Sun) and head straight to Nemo.

That's a tough question to answer since it varies by district.

I think LAUSD spring break, for schools not on year round schedules, is March 17-21 in 2008

But you'd have to check a whole lot more districts than just LAUSD, although I think they're the largest district in the state, to determine possible Disneyland crowds.

We've been at Disneyland when school holidays in AZ and UT have had a noticeable effect on crowds as well. I think almost the entire state of Utah must have taken a road trip to CA during UEA one year.



Edited to add: looks like USA will be hosting cheer & dance competitions at the Anaheim Convention Center that weekend (3/7-3/9) That can definitely have an effect on crowds as well, although the girls will be at the convention center competing much of the time, so they won't all be in the parks at once.
Plus the competitions in Anaheim are not as large as the ones they host in Orlando.

I agree with the PP though. You shouldn't have a problem getting on Nemo - just don't expect it to be a walk-on.

Thank you, I did try some school boards in around Anaheim, I couldn't find anything, I guess we will "wing" it.

Yes, "Mommy of 2 boys and 1 girl" (same as me!) we are driving from Edmonton, first to Las Vegas, it's 24 hours! Yuck! However, there are 3 of us taking turns driving ... then on to Anaheim ... San Francisco, Seattle, back to Canada via British Columbia .... then home ... trying to do a circle!

As someone who frequents LV (every 2-3 months), I don't recommend taking kids to the casinos. The strip isn't really a great place for little ones. There are a few kid friendly things there, but I would never take our kiddo. Lots of smoke and adult activites.

That being said, to each their own! Have a fun and safe trip.

Thanks! I have never been to LV, but I would agree, doesn't seem to be kid friendly, although my kids are in their teens, I wouldn't want to take them. I admit that I am being selfish and my kids are staying home (with 24 hr supervision ). My DBF and our best friend are going to the Nascar race and then on a mini vacation without the kids! Very selfish, but much needed! I had to promise to take them to WDW in the fall! The drive would be brutal with the endless "are we there yet"! We are not gamblers, so just want to see the sights in LV.

So far it seems I am missing the school breaks! Yeah!

Yeek! I didn't think about the Convention ... thanks for looking that one up! I think I'll get most of DLR in during the week and go to the fireworks and Fantasmic on the weekend

By the looks of the disneyland.com calendar and resort property rates, you are just missing the Spring Break peak season. Rates start to go up starting March 9 and hours are extended the following week.

Here in Utah it's the third week of April
My family in WA state have it the first week of April and the second week of April.

I have by the grace of the mouse, may have timed it right, but I just saw on another post that Fantasmic is down until March 7th!!!!!! Good thing, I got a 7 day park hopper pass! I can see it on the weekend, I hope!

Well in that case, have a great time. Vegas is loads of fun for adults.
