My family is considering a split stay for 2007: Vero Beach and Disney. I've never been to Vero Beach before and I am not a DVC owner. Can I rent points for Vero Beach like for other vacation club properties? Is this a good option, or is it better just to book it without the whole point rental thing (I've never done point renting before)? I guess my question is whether there is a big price difference between just booking the place versus renting points. Can I just call up and book Vero Beach without renting points? Help!!!!!!

I'm not sure who you contact to make reservations at VB if you're not a DVC member - sorry. I do know that people have reported getting rooms on Expedia for VB, so you might check there for room rates. Generally speaking though, I think it is generally cheaper to rent points from a DVCer. Renting requires a certain amount of trust on everyone's part.

I'm not a DVC member but I have rented points. I think, as with any DVC property, it is cheaper to go with points Sun - Thurs and book it regularly for the other days. We have Vero booked for Oct. and we did it by calling Disney. You may get a member's discount. We got a Birnbaum's discount. Good Luck!

Thanks to all for your help!

Depending on when you're staying and how long, renting points would probabily be the cheapest way to go..

If you want to book cash, I believe you can use the usual CRO number..
