We're currently booked at HRH Nov. 17-20 and will visit the parks on Sun. Nov. 18 & Mon. Nov. 19. After seeing an ad for Gaylord Palms with the new Dreamworks Experience there, my daughter (7) is asking to stay there instead of HRH. My son (11) likes HRH, but wouldn't mind GP either.
Based on your experience, how vital would it be to have the Xpress Passes on Nov. 18 & 19? If we choose to stay offsite at GP, would the stand-by wait times be do-able (around 20-30 min.) or would they be higher than that? Also according to Google maps, GP is about 11 miles from US/IOA. How bad is the traffic in the morning before the parks open (at 9 am) and approx. how much time would it take to get from GP to Universal based on that traffic?
If the parks won't be too crowded and we can handle the wait times without Xpress passes, then we may switch to GP. However, it is the Sun. & Mon. before Thanksgiving. What do you think? Any opinions are appreciated! Thanks!
