I'm making my second trip to Disney in consecutive years, so I'm comfortable driving to and from the parks. What I don't yet have a handle on is driving to resorts.

We are staying off site. Magical Express is not an option.

Our first evening, we have reservations at 'Ohana. Here are my questions regarding 'Ohana.
1. When I get to the parking toll both, do I simply tell the clerk that I have reservations at 'Ohana, and they will let me through without the daily parking charge?
2. Will I easily be able to distinguish between the TTC parking lot and the Poly parking lot?

Later in the week, we are going to the 5:00 PM show of HDDR. We will have already paid our parking fee earlier in the day, so that is not an issue. What do you suggest as the best method for getting to and from HDDR?
1. Boat from MK?
2. Driving to Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground (edit - removed incorrect reference to FWR) and taking internal transportation?
3. Other?

I can't answer your question about parking fees for the Polynesian. I have no idea. I should have asked my ds when he drove over to the CR to pick up some stuff from me. He lives in Tampa and is cheaper than the day is long...I think he may have mentioned it to me if he had had to pay to get in to the MK area. But, he may have just kept his mouth shut since I had lugged a bunch of his crap down to him, free of charge.
Perhaps someone else can answer that.

As far as HDDR goes, I would park at the TTC and then head over to the MK and take the small boat to FtW from there..then reverse it when you're done.
I find using the internal bus system at FtW to be confusing to say the least. The boat will drop you right at the path leading to the HDDR area...about a 2 min walk, if that.

They won't charge you if you say you are going to the Poly for dinner and they will direct you where to go (go to a toll booth on the far right - but not the bus lane).

I noticed you used the term Ft. Wilderness Lodge. There is no such animal!

Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is where Hoop-De-Doo is located. It's often referred to as just "the campground", or "the fort."

Wilderness Lodge is an entirely different resort.

Just to complicate matters, there are boats to both from MK, and they are different boats.

It's a common source of confusion among guests using Disney Transport. Make sure you know you are going to Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge, for Hoop-De-Doo.

Thanks for the clarification on the correct resort name. I definitely had it wrong.

You can avoid going thru the MK toll plaza by using Bonnet Creek Pkwy to Vista Blvd to get to both Fort Wilderness and the Polynesian resort.

I guess the image was removed, but I found this map in Google books that identifies the toll plazas. I can see how I could bypass the plazas using the route you suggested.

I don't know why I didn't have my parking pass out, but at PR I told the gate master that I had reservations for dinner and he pulled out a computer print-out of reservations and asked my name.

We did have reservations so it was no problem.
