questions on upgrading on delta

usually when we go to wdw we go on AT (at least for now) and I upgraded to first class 24 hrs before flight for a small fee usually around $150 for the 2 of us

however this yr we are going to Hawaii and taking delta from LA

does anyone know if you upgrade with them to first class for a small fee

or do you have to pay the going first class fare which is over $1000 PP

we leave in just a week 35th anniversary trip

cant wait

I think with delta their frequent flyers get first dibs at first class upgrades and most of the time they are all gone before the regulars get a chance.

If there are any first class seats left after they upgrade their medallions, they advertise them at the gate. I haven't flown them in awhile but to be eligible to buy the upgrade, your fare class has to be one of the higher ones.

They sometimes advertise upgrades online, check your reservation. I did a "dummy" reservation, it was about $300 per person each way.

You may want to look at upgrading to Economy Comfort, it is still coach but you have added legroom. I think you can do that at any time.
