I am in the middle of tweaking plans for my August trip and need some input from you Disney pros out there:

1. At Early Entry, would I miss the "normal" park opening festivities such as the characters @ MK pulling up in the train?

2. Regarding the Keys to the Kingdom tour, is there any downside doing it at a busy time such as 8:30 Saturday morning?

3. What is the best way to get from EPCOT to MGM?

1. When we were last there in 2001 they still did the big opening at Epcot so I think they just view it as any other day.

2. Never did the tour but would love to some day.

3. On our last 2 trips we had a car so we used that almost exclusively for travel but in '97 I think we were able to take a boat from MGM to Epcot. It may stop first at the Boardwalk and then takes you to the back entrance, the one that goes into the international showcase.

To get from EPCOT to MGM you have two choices: the boat which stops at all the resorts in between the two parks and takes 20-25 min. or the walking pathway that takes 15-20 min depending on how fast you walk. I like the boat ride as it is nice and relaxing but if I am in a hurry and there isn't a boat in sight I will walk.

I asked this question not too long ago. The answer is that unless you are outside the train station area again, you will not see the start of the morning character song and dance that opens that park. Sorry, I am having to work around this one too. Mickey
