I know all of this has been asked before, but I can't seem to find the threads or remember the answers :rotfl: so I would love some help.
Which restaurants are open during the party? What advice do you have about making an ADR so that we aren't tied up with eating for too long during the party? Any other tips would be appreciated. :santa:

Liberty Tree and Crystal Palace are the only TS that I am aware of during the parties (I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong!)

I made ressies for CP on 12/1 at 6pm. We will get to the park prior to the party that day and figure this will be a good time for a meal. Typically we are in and out of a buffet in about 1 hour, so this is good timing for the closurer between 6 and 7pm for the party to start. (I have done the same for the MNSSHP only eating at LTT - heard the foods not great, but we have not experienced a character meal there as of yet!)

If you can't get something in park - we ate at the Contemporary last Dec (I didn't plan ahead) and that was good too, but we got to MK just as a big wave of other folks did, so that was the downside of eating outside the park..

Whatever you do have fun!!!

Thanks so much for the info. I found it interesting that the website said that the MK would not close til 7 on the 12th which is the day we are considering, so it seems there won't be any "closing" like I have heard about. We have gone to the party once before but it was a couple of years ago and we did not time it very well and arrived late and so I am trying to be better prepared this time.

I read on another post today where that info was in error....... that the park will close at 6pm prior to the party opening at 7pm.

Well that's good to know. So I guess I'd better get busy. Thanks so much for passing that on. Have fun on your trip also. We love the holidays at WDW.

You are welcome - LOL - my next trip is in just a couple hours - we live less than 1 hour from MK!!!!

The holidays are great!

One more question, are any counter service restaurants open during the MCVCP?
And have fun on this trip!!!

We went to a sold out night of MVMCP and I was surprized at the crowds.

My biggest tip would be to eat so that you are done eating and ready to rock by 7pm. That first hour of the party is the best as far as no waiting. I would suggest a 5:30 ADR. We had a 5:50 ADR at CRT and I wish we had gotten an earlier one.

If picking up your tickets at WDW ... allow a lot of extra time. They had one window open for ticket pick up. I would opt to have them mailed if I go again.

We went on a sold out night and as the first parade time approached (It was around 8) TommorrowLand was packed and FantasyLand was hoppin. It was cold so we opted not to head over to Splash and Big Thunder so I dont' know about that area.

Wish we had gotten earlier ADR's so err on the side of "too early" rather than "too late!"

That sounds like good advice. I didn't realize CRT was taking ADR's during the party. Unfortunately, I have a teen son who probably won't want to eat there. The problem we ran into before was that we ate quickly at our resort, but then the boat was packed coming over to MK and we had to wait for a couple of boats, so it would seem best to be already in the park before they close it to avoid that problem. If you don't have an ADR but do have a wristband already I thought I had read they either had everyone in one area or something. Does anyone know? Thanks! Oh, and are there any CS open during the party if we eat a late lunch but get hungry late?

Yes, if you are in the park prior to 7pm - and get your wristband (usually around 4pm or so they start allowing entrance with party tickets (at least in past years)) everyone is directed to one land - to wait until the park is cleared out of non party attenders and the park is readied for the party!

I am pretty sure there are CS open during the party, although I can't say 100% - we have not normally eaten once the party started that I remember, but I am certain that I remember Casey's being open as we walked by! We have been three years in a row since 2003, but I never really thought about the CS! Sorry I'm not able to answer that part 100% surely!

CRT, The Plaza and CP take ADRs up until 6:00p.

LTT and Tony's are open till around 9:30p.

Some CS that were open are Cosmic Rays, Pecos Bills, Casey's Corner, MK Bakery. Some are not open like Columbia Harbor House.

If you are not eating for that hour, you will be directed to one area so they can clear out the rest of the park. Last year it was Adventureland/Frontierland but its always been Tomorrowland before that.

So do you pick up your wristband prior to 7pm? For instance, we plan on getting to the park around 1ish and we have an ADR at the Plaza at 4:50pm, can we just go to the entrance prior to our ADR to exchange our actual MVMCP credit cards for the wristbands?

Thanks for the info...

There are 3 ways to get the wristbands; at the turnstyles when entering after 4:00p, in the restaurant your eating in, and from CMs around the park (after 6:00p). The CMs are usually near the Castle or the town hall.

Thanks everybody! This really helped! Can't wait til December!

We like to eat about 4:30 on party nights.

You know that was also mentioned in a post above and it sounded like a good idea to me. My son and I really like the Plaza. We just ate at the CP so an early ADR at the Plaza just might work for us. You guys are just full of great ideas. It is my first time on my own with my DS so I want to make sure we can take advantage of the entire party and ride everything.
