Questions for VGC opening guest

Here is the Villa map. This represents one of the 6 floors... The circled part are the villas. The remaining rooms are the Grand CA Hotel's existing rooms. Note the size difference! GCH's hotel rooms are actually very spacious, with 2 queen beds, so the villas are truly a nice size!

My understanding is the only place you can get that is at the parks guest services.

I'd love to know what White Water Snacks offers for groceries, as we are planning to cook a big Turkey dinner in room during our November visit, as well as other meals.

Longhairbear, I was there last Wednesday and I checked out Whitewater Snacks. There was not a large selection of grocery items. In the refrigerator section was eggs, quart size milk, slice American cheese, xheese sticks and a few more I can't think of, In the frozen section was lasagna, mac n' cheese and frozen pizza ( the other items were ice cream bars). In the dry goods section was peanut butter, jelly, crackers. I don't seem to remember seeing bread??

I would recommend you bring everything with you. What they had seemed to just meet the basic items for groceries. I was disappointed and wished they had more. Maybe in the future.

In case you don't know, Vons is a grocery store (same as Safeway in other parts of the country), and they have online ordering and will deliver. $50 minimum, and if you're a first-time customer you get free delivery with that order. vons.com

Tomorrow is early admission (park opens at 8 so we get to go in at 7). I believe this is only 3-4 days of the week. Sun and Tue for sure.... And it's only for guests of the DL hotels and the Villas.

And every person with a normal (not military, not convention) 3+ day ticket gets one day of MM during their stay.





So I saw something that seemed to say/show that there is just one big pool area for everyone staying at the Grand Cal. Is this true? Or are the pools separate? We're staying at the hotel part on points, and I would love to get my brain straight on the matter. Thanks!

Yep, just one pool area for DVC members and GCH guests. There is no division between the three pools, kiddie pool or the two hot tubs. All pools and hot tubs are open to all people staying at the Grand.

well we just got back from our wonderful trip of firsts. first trip to DL, first time at GCV, and we were told we were the first to check in to the new villas. we had a studio and it was wonderful. the lobby was fantastic, the view was awesome, and for those of us use to DW the location was great, can you tell we really had a great trip. you can cut through the pool and go to the special entrance to CA and you are right there at the rides, it was great. If you are use to DW another big difference is the food. there are numerous table service places to eat but the counter service is small with a limited selection but of course you can always walk right out the door and there you are right in the middle of downtown disney. we stored our luggage on both days we checked in and out and they were fast to our room both for pick up and drop off. you can also self park for free until midnight on your check out day. i am disappointed we were not told about the members reception all though i don't know if we could have drug our kids out of the park but it would have been a nice option to attend and get some freebies. we did buy the limited addition pin for the GCV. we really hated to leave and look forward to making it back out to the west coast. hope everyone enjoys themselves as much as we did.

We check in this Friday for few nights for Gay Days, staying in a studio. I can't wait to see all the Halloween decor in person at the parks. The new Ghost Galaxy overlay on Space Mountain, new animatronic dragon in Fantazmic, and Zero flying over the castle during the Halloween fireworks are getting great reviews.
We are also celebrating our first wedding anniversary a few days early on this trip.
It will be nice to go back to the studio with a few friends we are meeting up with, and show off our DVC. I'm sure of at least one that will want to join, and buy at VGC.

Make sure they mention your name and the state you live in, because there is a reward program where you can receive a gift. I think it may even be some money or Disney gift cards. I would ask your guide.

Basket type, and I think the machine is a Sunbeam 12 cup coffee maker.
