I need some questions answered so I am coming to my peeps with no doubt I will be 100% armed with the correct information so I don't make a fool out of myself in front of my friend :rolleyes1

We are staying at the Dolphin in 3 weeks and I just got some not very magical answers from their staff so please help :sad2: Ok first of all the mini bar will it keep water and soda cold and if so do we pay the $20.00 to have them remove the items and return them after check out or can we actually do it ourselves and get away with it without the maid giving us dirty looks? Also should we stop at the store for a 12 pack of water or so instead of buying quarts @ $3.73 down in the convenience store to stock in same mini bar and how much fits in there? One more question is do they play the regular disney stuff on the TV like they do in the actual "disney owned" hotels and if not will we miss it terribly? OMG panic setting in after all this planning :scared1: I was asking some questions tonight and the lady at the convenience store seemed rather irritated that I was asking her prices of water lol and the lady at the front desk well she was nice but I'm getting nervous that I won't like the service like I do with Disney. Thanks all for hearing me out and hoping you will calm my fears.

We will be at the Dolphin next week and I would be interested in hearing the answer to these questions too.

Bumping up and I have one more question? Is there hairdryers in the Dolphin Rooms? Thanks!

I can answer the question about the hair dryers....yes when I was there they had them.

I really don't remember the "Disney TV Station"...I am going to guess not as it is not a Disney - owned hotel.

I can't answer the questions you have about the water.

I will say this though. I have stayed at the Dolphin and I LOVED it. It is so close to Epcot and MGM and I loved being able to walk or to ride the boat. I loved the proximity to the Boardwalk for restaurants and fun. I never felt I was "outside of Disney" never at all. In fact, I felt more "outside" at the CBR, which I loved as well.

You will not be disappointed in your stay at the Dolphin. I would love to hear your trip reports when you get back.

I know some people empty out the mini bar but what we do is just do a quick stop at the hess mini mart for soda, I am sure they must have water there too. Its the closest to the swan and dolphin. I just take what we want and keep it in the ice bucket each day etc. The swan and dolphin has excellent customer service and yes they do have that top 10 show on the tv. My teens even watch it. After the 2nd day it gets pretty annoying to me, but I guess it gets them in the mood for the day. I dont know the hairdryer question and we have stayed in both resorts, sorry just never noticed.

Rest easy, there is a "disney" information channel just like at the WDW resorts. Same Disney channel, same Disney info! There will also be a Swan & Dolphin channel with all sorts of info relating to the resort and what services they offer. You can also keep tabs on what is going on your resort bill with a few clicks of the remote control. If you see something on there (like a room service charge or whatever) you can get a handle on it immediately.

The fridges are small and don't get all that cold. They will chill your water or soda, which is better than room temp. We've never paid the fee to have it emptied. We simply move a few things around and put one or two bottles of water in it. We then always keep a good supply of ice in the ice bucket. Works for us. We make a stop on the way to the resort for water, usually 2 or 3 packs of 6 bottles of water, I think they are 8 oz. in size. We've never had a charge show up for something we didn't consume from the fridge.

To give you an idea of how big the fridge is on the inside and what they stock them with, here you go:

I've stayed at the swan and dolphin, and am staying again at the dolphin next wee
I have a son with food allergies, and need a fridge in the room. They normally charge for this, but due to medical reasons they always send me one. You can opt to pay for one, don't remember how much.
The TV is actually a draw for me - they have movies on demand, that you can rewind, ff, pause, watch again the next morning if you stop it at the end (did that twice). In the evening, it was nice to get (good quality and inexpensive) room service and watch a movie with the kids. The more tired one would just fall asleep then. The room service has kids menu.
My friend that stayed a couple rooms down from me last year just emptied out part of the minibar herself to make room for a couple of little parmalats and waters. Then she kept a couple in the ice bucket. They didn't charge her to do that. Otherwise, you can have it emptied I guess. It's up to you.
The rooms IMHO are cleaner and the beds better than at disney resorts. The service was good. I had them remove the fuse to the motion detector in the room, so the a/c wouldn't shut off at night (DS also has asthma and I want the air circulating).
Any other questions, PM me!
