Questions for Glowtini drinkers

I bought some cubes a couple of years ago and hadn't used them until this Xmas. I was psyched about creating my own Glowtinis until I discovered that my cubes floated instead of illuminating the drink from within. Are the cubes in Disney heavy or is there some trick to getting them to stay at the bottom of the glass?

If you have drunk a glowtini and 'rescued' the ice-cube - do all of them have more than one colour option? I thought they were just blue but saw a few people in the Manhatten Bar cycling their cubes through a range of colours.

All the glowtini cubes from DLP change colours each time you press the button.

The ones from DLP do not float as they are quite heavy

Mine floated! I used it last night in my Bucks Fizz and it was floating the whole time.

Mine too - must admit I've always used mine in fizzy drinks (bucks fizz/champers, on the very odd occasion). Love them - have Tinks/Captain Hook glow things as well and love those too :lovestruc. Mind you, had to replace the battery on Tink after girls played with it too much and it cost more than the original cocktail to replace :rotfl:

Just got mine down to look at them and they're all blue ~ I can press the button to change the speed of the flash (got fast flash, slow flash or non-flash) but they are all the same shade of blue. I'm going to be looking out for multi-colour ones next summer now! :earseek:

ETA: Just used them tonight and they float although they stay pretty much underneath the level of the drink so still illuminate it well. DH says he's used ordinary ice on top to keep the flashing one down the bottom of the glass before.

are they widely available?
I've had glowtinis at Cafe Fantasia in the DLH and Walt's but I think you can buy them in all the bars. Have you checked out the Cocktail Thread here? Makes for interesting reading! ::yes:: :goodvibes

Thanks everyone - glad it's not just me that has glowing icebergs instead of glowing drinks. I like the tip of topping with real ice - gives me an excuse to try making another one.

Will definitely have to indulge in authentic glowtinis next visit - just to get the multi colour cubes, of course!

I love my glowtini ice cube.......used on new years eve to disnify my drink! (regretted it on new years day though!)

If you press and hold the button it cycles through the colours one by one. If you press it quick it changes once each time!

How sad am I?????

Took me ages to work it out!

Enjoy!

:dance3:
