Questions concerning purchase of AP's

I have a trip planned for 7/11/06 through 7/16/06. This is my first trip on Disney property and dealing with Disney so I have a million questions.

I have a room-only reservation and I already purchased MYW tickets for 2 adults and 1 child. I have the 10 day park tickets plus water park option. I booked this vacation online. Does Disney send you the actual park tickets in the mail before your vacation?

I was considering purchasing an AP. I know it would be worth it money-wise for me if an AP code comes out and if I can plan another trip to Disney before the AP expires. How much is it to renew a Premium AP if I can't plan a trip before the expiration date?

If an AP code comes out can I call and ask for that rate to be applied to my existing reservation before I actually purchase the AP? I know that I need an activated AP before I check in.

Can I use 1 of the MYW tickets and upgrade the ticket at the Disney store in Orlando Airport or would I have to call Disney to upgrade 1 of the MYW tickets to an AP?

I also have a question concerning the DDE card. I have read some posts that it takes about 2 months for them to send the card once you purchase it. Do you need an AP number in order to purchase the DDE or can you purchase it and then get the AP?

I'll try to respond.
If you booked the tickets at the same time you booked the room you won't get them in advance. They will be encoded on your room key. If you did it as a different transaction then you selected mail or will call. So depending on your selection the tickets may or may not be mailed.

I don't think I follow the AP renewal question at all.

Yes, if an AP rate comes out you can call and ask for the rate to be applied without the actual AP.

I don't think the upgrade can be done at the airport. I think it has to be done at Guest Services at Disney.

You cannot order DDE without an AP or AP voucher. However, they will send a temporary card the next day to Guest Services at Epcot by 5 p.m.
