we are renting from this website. I have read alot of different stuff for different owners in Windsor Hills. Some of the posts I read said you have to wash your towels and dry them before you leave. Does anyone know if that is true? What about the sheets on the beds? What about soap for the shower, soap for dishes, the dishwasher or trashbags? Any specific information aobut these condos would be appreciated.

As far as sheets and towels are concerned, many management companies simply request that you strip the beds and leave the sheets in a pillowcase on the bed. They also ask that you start a load of towels in the washer before you leave. This is not done to get free work out of the guest but to simply expedite the cleaning process. If you don't have time, nobody is going to charge you or anything like that. Concerning bath soap, dishwasher liquid, laundry soap, trashbags, etc., most owners or their management companies supply a starter set of soaps, etc. but you will need to purchase whatever more you will need for your stay. I often see guests leave unused bottles of laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, etc. for the next guest so you may want to see what's been left before buying it.

You can also see a copy of the rental agreement under the question: Can I see a sample contract?

Are there cleaning supplies?
We provide regular cleaning items such as a mop, broom, dustpan, trashbags, toilet paper, and vacuum. As this style of vacation is classed as "self-catering", you will be responsible for other needs, such as shampoo, etc. There is an on-site shop and supermarkets and grocery stores close to the resort.

You can just email Dave and ask him any of your questions. We haven't stayed here but with other homes we strip the beds and take everything to the laundry room. Sometimes we wash a load of towels and put them in the dryer then start another load but not always. It's no big deal if you do or don't usually.

I just rented from this group last week. As far as the cleaning supplies, I bought things and brought it with me. (we drove).

I brought a small bottle of liquid dish soap, small bottle of laundry detergent, stain remover and some diswasher tablets. When we got there, I found a small half bottle of liquid dishwasher detergent and trash bags. I left a few dishwasher tablets and some of my laundry detergent.

The towels we threw in the wash the night before. When the laundry ended, I threw them all in the dryer and turned it on. I left all the towels in the drier for the housekeeping to do.

As for the last "morning" shower, we used the pool towels that we brought with us and just put them in a plastic bag. We then washed those when we got home from our drive.

I knew the info on the site but in my research I have noticed what it says on some of the sites isn't what happens really. I was just curious if anyone had personal experince. Thank you everyone for your responses

Once you choose a condo/villa, you'll probably find it has its own website. On there you should find a list of exactly what's included and what is not (possibly in the FAQ section). I know ours says that you need to bring trash bags, dish soap, laundry soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, etc.

You are best to either contact the owner and ask what his management company expects or else wait until you get there and the info is usually contained in a welcoming information package you will find in the condo. Last year the management company of the house we rented in Windsor Hills asked us to have the pool towels washed and dried and load the towels in the washer and put that load through before we left. They also requested for the sheets to be stripped off the beds. I left the bedding beside the washer to speed up the cleaning process for the next family. I basically did as much as I could so the next family wouldn't have any delays checking into the house when they arrived. The way I look at it is I do everything to speed up the cleaning process for the next renter the same way I wish the renter before me would, so my family wouldn't experience any check-in delays. :laundy:

Eww. the towels. I am considering renting a condo in WH, but I didn't realize that the towels are just washed in the condo washer dryer by the previous occupant. I have some serious sanitary issues with that. I was just assuming that it would be like houses I've rented in the Outer Banks that have sheet and towel service. A service would put a fresh stack of bleached, hot water washed white towels in the bathrooms and make up all the beds during the cleaning. When you check out you simply put all dirty towels and sheets in a garbage bag by the door for them to pick up when they dleiver fresh for the next renter. I would never use towels that were just wached in detergent and no bleach (or not washed by me) by someone that rented there. What if they have a skin disease and the water wasn't hot to kill the germs? Think of the nether regions that have been dried with those things! ICk. I am in no way a germaphobe, but this is just gross. I'm gonna have ot rethink this.

Well I guess you could get your own bleach and wash all the towels before you use them ???
You don't know for SURE if all those towel service towels that you're talking about were really washed in bleach or not. ;)
When you consider all the germs you can pick up from handrails, door knobs, seats, rides etc in Disney what's a few towels.

Are you serious? You do realize that no matter what temperature the water that washed them was, the towels are dried in a very hot dryer. The steam will kill any germs.

We are staying at one of Dave's condos in THREE WEEKS!!! :D (Can you tell I am excited?

I have contacted/pestered Dave with many questions, and he always responds the same day, even sometimes in the evenings! I would email him and ask him!

About the towels - meh. If it helps you sleep at night... bring an extra suitcase of your own? I have never heard about a public-but-washed-towel phobia before. Enjoy your trip! :)

We stayed at John Cline's townhome in June.

They ask you to wash & dry the towels before you leave. That's it. No bedstripping or replenishing any cleaners or anything.

We kept up on the towels the whole time we were there (2 weeks, June 14-June 28th). So the last night we just threw in the last load when we got back from the parks, and threw them in the dryer before bed. As I did the towels, I just piled them on the half-wall that divides the stairwell from the upstairs hallway. I did that the whole time we were there and we just took towels from there as needed. There were PLENTY of towels.. each room had a different color.
The last day, all washed and dried, I left them all on that half-wall, each in it's own color pile.

They start you out with some cleaners, trash bags, soaps... etc. You do need to get your own because they probably won't last. You do not have to replace what you use. When we left we did leave a big box of trash bags, some cleaners, fabric softner sheets, detergent, dish deteregent downstairs, and hand soap pumps. Anything we thought the next renters might use, and might be left in the townhome by the cleaning company.

Email Dave, or whichever owner you're renting from. I know Dave got back to me very quickly, and when I emailed John Cline (the owner of our townhouse rental unit), he responded even quicker!

There was also a sign posted in our townhouse that said if we did not strip the beds and throw in a load of wash before we left they may keep part of our security deposit! I loved the place but that annoyed me.

Yikes! :scared1: What company/person did you rent through?

I'm sure whichever townhouse owners you rented from, it wasn't from the site the OP posted, because they don't take security deposits.
That would annoy me too, the threat part. It should have just been a request.

Our owner we just rented from does not keep a security deposit, said they do not believe in them. Also, the towels and washing is on a "please do it for the next guest" kind of thing, but it is not mandatory.
