Hi! Going on Wonder for 3rd time in a couple weeks and want to finally try to attend the Walking Ship Tour on embarkation day.

1. Will they allow our 6 and 10 year olds to attend?
2. Do we just show up?
3. Where is the meeting location?
4. Would love to hear about your experiences!
:thanks:

The first day tour?

1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. It will be in the Navigator - I've seen them take off from different places.
4. It is not really a "tour" so much as it is a "here are the important things". If you've been on the Wonder twice before, the odds of you learning anything new on this one are slim to none. It is literally just an orientation tour.

For the more in depth and detailed thing, you're looking for the Art of the Theme Show Tour which will take place during the cruise and IS adults only so the kids would not be allowed. It's not really behind the scenes, but you learn about why some things were done the way they are to tell a story. Info for when and where will be in/on your Navigators.

1- Yes
2- Yes
3- Preludes, deck 4 forward
4- On our first cruises, we prefered touring on our own. The tours are scheduled at times when we have other things to do, like unpacking. They stay in the public spaces and point out where things are. It’s basically an orientation tour. It’s not really entertaining.

We did the 'walking ship tour' with our kids (ages 12 and 16) on embarkation day (1:45PM tour) on our first cruise, Wonder/August 2016. At that time it met by the deck 10 forward elevators. (Location will be listed in your navigator.) There were a lot of people on our tour, and it is indeed, just an orientation of the main areas of the ship. I would have done better just learning where things were on my own, as the way the tour goes isn't the way I would normally walk around the ship. As this will be your 3rd time on the Wonder, I'd skip the walking ship tour and try to go to the 18+ 'Art of the Theme Show Tour' sometime during your cruise. (For us it met outside of Palo.) Your kids can't go with you on that one, but if they're willing to be in the kids club at that time, I think you'd enjoy it. DH and I found the Art of the Theme Show tour very informative, as it's all about the theming of various areas of the ship--carpets, paint, height of the ceilings, etc. Lots of fun tidbits!

Both of the tours you just show up.

Thanks for the input, everyone! I think you are right that I could skip it since we are very familiar with the Wonder.

Reading your comments, I think I was confusing the tour with the Art of the Theme tour. Not sure yet if we'll attend yet...depends on time of day. Kids are already complaining that they'll be in the kids club for 2 Palo brunches and a possible group mixology! :rotfl2::rotfl:

However they also know we won't be able to cruise for at least 6 years so they have to enjoy what they can! :thumbsup2

Thanks again! :disrocks:
