I have a question .. I stayed at fort wilderness cabins for a week and loved it.Is staying at a villa like wilderness lodge villas the same kind of feel , are villas like condo's or just like a bigger room. thank you

All are different-at OKW it has a condo feel to it. I stayed in many condos over the years, it has that feel, some of the condo's I rented were larger but for WDW ,OKW is large. Some of the others might have a more hotel feel to it like BWV but I never staye there so I am just guessing.

I've never stayed at the cabins in Ft. Wilderness but in my opinion the DVC studios feel like a hotel room while the one and two bedrooms feels like condos. The studios have a microwave and small fridge and everything is in one room.

The one and two bedrooms have separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and a jacuzzi tub in the bath.

I've never stayed in a Grand Villa either but I would think that would feel like a townhouse or home.

The difference in all of them is the themeing. I don't care for the Villas of Wilderness Lodge. We love the Boardwalk and we thought both Old Key West and Beach Club were nice. Haven't stayed at SSR but have toured it and I think we would like it.

Hope that helps.

They call the DVC villas, homes away from home, because they are closer to your home than a hotel. Even the ones that are hotel based (BCV, BWV and VWL) are more like an apartment than just a hotel room. In the one and two bedroom villas, you actually have a bedroom, plus a kitchen, a laundry room, etc. You feel like you are at home instead of in a hotel.

We split our stay one trip between OKW and FW Cabins. Before we joined DVC, we'd loved the cabins. But boy, have they shrunk! And they're so much darker than I remember. The cabins may be somewhat similar to a studio (just smaller and darker), but remember that a 1 or 2 BR Villa has more than 1 TV, much larger bathroom, laundry facilities. However, I thought the whole FW feels somewhat like a little village, much as OKW does to me.

If you like FW - then I think you will love VWL.

now the studios aren't a great improvement.

but the 1-bedroom definitely are - you not only have your own kitchen, but a whirlpool tub, plus a washer/dryer combination....

there is one thing that FW and WL has - that VWL doesn't have - no bunk beds - for some reason DVC won't even consider bunk beds or murphy beds.
Although Wl has bunk beds. Only FW has the murphy bed.

The biggest difference is probably in the beds.

FWC: (1) Double Bed, (1)Two-tier bunk bed, (1) double murphy bed, "sleeps 6"

Studio: Either (2) queen size beds or (1) queen + (1) queen sleeper sofa
1 Bedroom: (1) King bed all by itself in the master bedroom, (1) queen sleeper sofa in living room.
Both sleep 4. Or 5, or however many you want to start an argument on this board with.

2 Bedroom (1) king bed all by itself, (1) queen sleeper sofa and either (2) queens or (1) queen + (1) queen sleeper.
Sleeps 8

grand villa: Sleeps 12, includes 1 king bedroom, 2 'queen' bedroms ( I think...can't recall), 1 sleeper sofa. Someone help me out here.
