We're booked for two days at Vero over Thanksgiving weekend, after spending 5 days at Disney. We're excited and looking forward to the wind-down after the parks.

Can you tell me what to expect at Vero? Are there any characters at all?

How are the restaurants onsite? Do I need reservations?

Good day time/evening programs for kids? I have a 7 year old girl.

Thanks!

We did not see any characters. They had so many activities for the kids when we were there. We were there last year and my daughter stayed very busy with the list of activities. They have a schedule for the day that you can pick up at check in. They do far more activities than the resorts in Orlando. The campfire was a big hit, but they only do that a couple of days a week.

We went in June of last year. Donald was walking around the pool one day, Goofy and Donald also came to the character breakfast. Only characters we saw there all week.

There is one character breakfast per week (on Saturdays, I believe), but other than this, there were no characters we saw for the week we were there.

There are two TS restaurants, Shutters and Sonya's. Shutters is open 7 days a week for B,L,D. Sonya's is open Thursday thru Sunday (I think) for dinner, and Sunday brunch (which is really good). There is one CS by the pool. For TS, I myself would make ADR's. For the character breakfast, I would think an ADR is an absolute must. ADR's can be made 30 days out (not 180 like at WDW). If you have a car, there are lots of restaurants in the area, and there is a big menu book at the front desk, and CM's are happy to give you directions to any of them.

For the programs, they publish a weekly and daily activity schedule. In addition, there are some turtle walks, some organized by the resort (lottery system) and others organized by conservancy groups in the area.

MrsNick, can you please give more info on the Sunday Brunch? I'm planning on making res. tomorrow and would like to know more about it. Thanks!
