I have a few questions about my upcoming stay at SSR and OKW. We are staying our 1st night on Jan 11th 2009 at SSR and I understand it is near Downtown Disney. Do they provide the cute little boats as transportation to any of the parks or to Downtown Disney? We then transfer over to OKW for the next 4 nights. I am not familiar with what area OKW is in. What park is it closest to? Is there one of the cute little boats that can be used as transportation to any of the parks from OKW? I know there are buses but I am not sure about getting on a bus with my 2 year old who should be in a car seat. I am not sure what the rules are about that or if it is safe, etc. Also, since we are going to be there in January, are the pools heated? I know it is Florida and we may or may not have cool weather. I am a Central Floridian and I know, on any given day, even in the Winter it could be 80 degrees. But if it is cool, I was just wondering if we might still look forward to taking a dip in the pool. Last question - any suggestions on good restaurants at any of the resorts (we already have our faves in the parks but have never stayed on property)? Nothing fancy because we do have a 2 year old...LOL. Well, any suggestions or information is much appreciated.

SSR is not connected by water to any parks. Transportation to the parks is strictly by bus. They do have a boat (as well as bus transportation) to Downtown Disney.

OKW and SSR are right next to each other. EPCOT is the closest park to both of them. As with SSR, OKW is not connected by water to any of the parks. Park transportation is, again, strictly by bus. OKW does offer boat and bus transportation to Downtown Disney.

We have been taking our kids to WDW since they were infants and traveling on the WDW buses each time without incident. They just sat in our laps until they were old enough to sit on their own.

Yes, the pools are heated.

We enjoy Olivia's at OKW. It's very casual and laid-back...perfect for families.

Have a great time!

The boat conects OKW, SSR and DtD.

The route is OKW-SSR-DtD-SSR and back to OKW.

Once at DTD you can also catch a boat to Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. They have a nice restaurant Boatwrights in POR as well as Bob the pianist that plays on select night at the River Roost.
