Anyone who has any info on these places please help:Chef Mickeys for lunch (we've done breakfast and dinner there, what's the difference?)(I see that some dates are going to have lunch) also Diamond Horseshoe for dinner and Whispering Canyon for dinner and Tommorrowland Terrace Cafe Dinner Buffet?Any help would be great. Thanks

We just had lunch at WCC yesterday and it was ick...click on my link for pics and full review....no fun and games there either, I was very disappointed

Chef Mickey's is only open for breakfast and dinner. Diamond Horseshoe is open seasonally while I don't believe the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station serves a buffet. It is also a seasonal restaurant.

Whispering Canyon is great fun for families for dinner and lots of food too.

The last poster is wrong; Chef Mickey's is not open only for breakfast and dinner. During certain times in free dining it is also open for lunch. I personally have an ADR there for next Tuesday. :cool1: I have never been to the Chef Mickey lunch personally, but I read several other threads that said the food is similar to the dinner food, and the characters are present. Hope this helps!

There's a link on the DIS home page explaining which restaurants are open seasonally for free dining.

Diamond Horseshoe is only open for over-flow dining crowds like during Free Dining when they need extra table service availability. There is no show (although the place has a cool stage -- used to be a show years ago). The Disney website page for Diamond Horseshoe gives some of the food items they serve...they've given cutesy Western/Cowboy names to the food, but it's exactly the same as the family-style Thanksgiving feast dinner served at Liberty Tree Tavern...the food comes from the LTT kitchen & the servers at Horseshoe are wearing the LTT server costumes (patriot/colonial) If you like LTT dinner, you'll like Diamond Horseshoe.

Anyone know if they will also open these up for Free Dining late in the year?
:confused3

Would love to do a Chef Mickey's lunch on our Resort tour/MVMCP day and need a sitdown lunch. Was thinking we'd do The Wave, but I bet the 21 month old is thinking she'd rather do "MICKEY!!!!" :rotfl2:

Thanks everyone for the answers to my questions.I asked about these places because on the top of the Disboards page is a place for dis. site updates and all the places I asked about were listed. Some are up to Oct 3rd and some end in Sept.,so far, but since I had never tried any of them (only Chef Mickeys breakfast and dinner never lunch) I wanted to see what people like or disliked about them. Thanks for everyones help.
