Questions about the dining plan

I am going to WDW in August and have the free dining plan for 4 adults, myself, my male friend and his children ages 21 and 14.
During the time we are in Florida the 14 year old is going to visit his grandparents for a few days.
I know that I have to get the food plan for all 4 of us for the entire time we are staying on property and I have no problems because it is free. My question is...can we use the 14 year olds meal plan while he is gone?
If we can then I am going to book Hoop Dee Doo revue for the 3 of us. He went once and didn't like it at all and this will be a great time for us to go there without him.
How are they working the food plan now. I had it once before when I stayed at my DVC but I was alone. I did treat two of my friends one day to a meal at LeCellier but they have changed it so you can't buy food for others, only those listed on the plan. How do they enforce this?
Do you think we will be able to use his 3 Table Service points for the 3 of us to go to Hoop Dee Doo?
We plan on using his 3 QS meals for a breakfast one dayat the resort, late lunch at a park, and a late dinner at Wolfgang Puck's after the parks. Another perk during the time he is not with us, an adult meal with alcohol!!!

We did almost exactly what you are wanting to do. We purchased the Magic Your Way With Dining for all four of us but our daughter didn't arrive until two and a half days after we did. We used her counter service meals for our breakfasts. Her table service meals, we saved and used to see Hoop Dee Doo. We used her snack credits to purchase extra water in the parks.

Disney doesn't care how you use your credits. If you go over, you go over and have to pay. If you have any left over, shame on you.

I knew there was one more question I wanted to ask.
If we decide to not have bfst one day and want to share our QS points do you think we can take the tray of someone and use our points then give them the food? I can't imagine eating all those meals every day since we normally have a cup of tea and some toast for bfst and had planned on making tea in our room and using some of the snack points for muffins or donuts.
I really would love to share if at all possible.

Did the Free Dining Plan just come out for this August or did you purchase it . I'm waiting for the "Free Dining" plan for August myself!!!:thumbsup2 Please let me know how you got free dining !!! Thanks

You should be able to do what you plan w/no problem. We just got back. We were 4 adults, 1 of us was ill for a couple of days & missed a couple of the 2TS meals planned, so the other 3 did an extra TS breakfast that wasn't planned & an extra trip to Beaches & Cream and forced to choke down a Milky Way Sundae:dance3:

We did end up leaving 7 Counter Services still on the table when we left & it sure hurt my feelings but I could not eat another bite of food by the day we left and neither could anyone else!

We kept saying if we stayed any longer Disney was going to kill us with their Dining Plan (we were there 12 days). Death by Tonga Toast, what a way to go!

The OP didn't say, but I would assume he booked the free dining plan back in Nov or Dec via the Bounce Back Program they had going on. Free dining has also been offered already via the UK Program for UK residents.

I got the free dining this year for 3 weeks, I booked a little longer as its going to be a couple of years before I go back. I am going to Norway and China in 2008!

I was visiting my sister in Tampa when I read about the free dining plan for Aug and Sept. I booked a room at Pop for one night AP rate of $54 and then booked a week at Pop in Aug so I could get the free dining plan.
I wish I had done what you did Paula, 3 weeks with free food. That is definately worth it.
I am going to use the 1 day MYW ticket credit of $72 toward my AP. I am a DVC member so I get a discount on an AP.
