Ok I am sure this info is somewhere I just can't find it. I have a few questions if anyone can answer it would be appreciated.
1. Are their coffee machines inthe room?
2. Is the walk to the Poly tolerable by kids as young as 5?
I am thinking of using the SoG for our next vacation and needed some input. If anyone has any recent pics that woudl be great too. Thanks for any help in advance. WM

I've seen many threads on SOG here recently. Just do a search of "SOG" and many will pop up. Happy surfing! Our family is going to SOG as well in September. When are you going?

Bon Bon :)

I haven't been there since 2001 but there were coffee makers in the rooms. We drove to the Poly the 2 nights we had dinner there. I guess the walk wouldn't be so bad but we just drove.

The walk is about 10 minutes, no steep inclines or stairs. My boys at 5 could have easily done it. If a 5 year old plans on walking the parks, they better be able to walk the short distance to the poly.

I did a search but came up with nothing concrete great trip reports but couldnt find a reference to the coffee makers. Right now the trip is up in the air until we find out what hubbies next duty station is going to be we won't find that out until after he gets home off of his cruise, should be in april. If we are stayiing here and don't have to sell our house then hopefully around christmas next year. If we do get stationed somewhere else (come on Hawaii!!!) then it will be a last minute trip IF and I mean a big IF we sell our house before it is time to transfer. Thanks for respoding.

Hi,
We were just there this past summer (our 3rd stay there, but the first since the renovation). They do have coffee makers in the rooms. When we stayed before, we had a 2 1/2 year old (in a stroller), a 5 year old and an 8 year old. They did the walk to the Poly just fine. We just didn't rush and try to make the 5 year old walk too fast!
This last time, they had the "Shady Shuttle" - a golf cart that ran down the long drive from SOG and back throughout the day. We often were lucky enough to catch him and get a ride one way or the other. It drops you off at the end of the driveway to SOG - just across the street from the Poly. That was a very nice touch! The kids would get so excited to see the Shady Shuttle when we came back after a long day and were tired.

Thank you for your reply answered both my questions :jumping4: Thanks to everyone for their help :flower1:

Wickedmom, if you don't get the orders to Hawaii, shoot for Japan. We were at Atsugi for 4 years. Only 2 hours from Tokyo Disney!!!!!!!

Oh man would I love to get Japan but because we have 4 kids doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon. Japan is my 1st choice but I have to be realistic. Hopefully when the two oldest are in their late teens (and hopefully in college , or at least started on their adult lives ) we can go with the 2 youngest. So until then or until the Navy decides to send us to Japan even with 4 dependents. I can dream about Japan and Tokyo Disney. We won't know anything until end of April or beginning of June (he has to run a PRT and if he passes yay we get to stay in the Navy, if not I have no Idea what will happen.) But hubby definitely knows my wish List 1. Japan 2. Hawaii 3. anywhere but here ,now this is nothing agains Virginia but I am a Navy brat and every 2 to 3 years I get hankering to move, and so far in the almost 11 years we have been married we have been here for the past 3 duty stations. I want to travel while the kids are still young enough to like it and then stay in one spot when the oldest gets into her freshman year in highschool but the way things are going we may be doing it backwards oh well. Now that we are off topic. Hope you have a good day everyone who answered and thanks again for the help. WM
