I've been planning on a Disney vavcation when my youngest was 2 yrs old and I just had my last child and he will be 2 in September 2005 so it has been decided that we are definately going next year. I have realized that renting DVC points will only cost slightly more than renting two rooms at the value resorts during the time we will be there so I wasn't quite sure how to get started.

If I am planning to go in September of 2005, is it too ealry to rent points for then?? When should I do it to make sure i can?

I like the OKW resorts. There will be 2 adults and four children with us in the room or rooms but I have two girls and two boys so they could share beds if need be but would like to definately have a fridge and kitchen since it would be much easier to fix meals. We are on a tight budget since our family is so big and we would still need to buy tickets for the tiem we are staying and I stil have to find discount prices for those too.

Help please??!! This ill be my first tiem ever visiting Disney and my kids first time too. My DH has been and we are meeting my two sisiters down there and possibly their BF too so it will be a big family thing especially if I can talk my Mom into going. Thank you so much!!

you would need a 2 bedroom sleeps up to 8, it comes with a king bed, whirlpool tub, kitchen, living room area with a pull out couch , a second bedroom with 1 queen bed and a pull out couch and another bathroom.:sunny:
if you were going for a week at old key west villas you would need 218 points and boardwalk villas standard view 222 points.

as of now the points are about $10 - $12 a point, i doubt very much you would be able to rent points any lower then $10 a point.

when to start making ressies, i would start about 12 months out from the time you want to go, posting you would like to rent points for which ? resort, this way by 11 months from when you want to go you have your arrangements, payments, with the owner the you will rent your points and this way the owner can make your ressies at the 11 month , ressies cannot be made any sooner then the 11 months, but if you can not find someone to rent points to you from the resort that you want to stay, you will have to wait the for the 7 month.

example: you want to stay at the bwv, you will have to find an owner that owns at the bwv for the 11 month .
if you can not find an owner at the bwv but found an owner at bcv, that owner will have to wait until the 7 month to make ressies at the bwv.

this is only important if you need a 2 bedroom during value season(lowest amount of points needed, jan. sept, & the first two weeks of dec.), popular times and holidays.

studios do not have kitchens, just mini fridge, micro, toaster and coffepot, max in room 4 people, and no connecting rooms, cannot guarntee the studios will be close to each other, 1 bedrooms kitchen, max of people 4.

good luck:sunny:

according to the DVC calculator, I would only require 122 points at the most for the days I want to stay. How did you get your point total?? We would go from Mon to Fri

Hi,

The day you check in starts your point count. The day you check out does not count. So count what you need starting Monday through Thursday. Remember to count each day! So if its 22 points for Sunday through Thursday: Monday would be 22, Tuesday would be 22...and so on. Hope this helps!!! Have a good time!

And while other DVC resorts do have 1 queen bed and a pull out in the 2nd bedroom, ALL OKW rooms have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. So you would have 1 King bed in the master suite, a puil out in the living room and 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom.

Your sisters have the same BF? Sorry, couldn't resist.

Seriously, you should be planning a full year in advance but even earlier is not a bad idea. However for anyone to be willing to hold points for you for when the time actually comes, you will likely have to pay a deposit up front. Good luck, I know you will have a great time.
