We're thinking of going at the end of March in 2005 or 2006 and we're not DVC members. We wouldl like to stay at the Wilderness Lodge for 7days,6nights in a 2-bedroom villa. How many points would you need to have to rent this villa and how much would it cost. How soon would you make a reservation for the the Wilderness Lodge? Thanks a bunch.

DVC members can make reservations at their home resort 11 months ahead of the desired check out date.

The number of points required will depend on when Easter happens to fall in the year you plan to visit. Point requirements are quite a bit higher for the two weeks surrounding Easter.

Easter will fall on March 27 in 2005 and April 16 in 2006.

Weeknights (Sun - Thur) in a 2 bedroom villa in March are 40 points each.

Weekend nights (Fri & Sat) in a 2 bedroom villa in March are 75 points each.

If you are going the week before or the week after Easter, weeknights are 50 points each and weekend nights are 106 points each.

The point requirements I've posted are for 2004. It is possible (but not likely) that they will change before 2005 or 2006.

The actual cost of the villa will depend on how much the member charges per point for the rental. Right now that seems to average $10-$12 per point (with the higher amount for making a reservation 11 months ahead of time. That ensures availability for the dates and unit size you prefer). Rental rates may be more or less than that by the time you are able to make a reservation.

HTH.

Just to let you know - we recently rented from a DVC member through these boards & had a great experience. Everything went smooth & we had a wonderful time. :) Such a good time that we came home & bought a resale at OKW. :bounce: :Pinkbounc
