Questions about online airline check in?

I am meeting a group of people at the airport for an upcoming flight to WDW. I bought all the tickets online. I was told I could get boarding passes online, and give my luggage to the sky cap. That leads to my questions: Can I get everyone's boarding pass online, yet have them check their luggage as they arrive at different times than me? Or, do I have to wait and have everyone check the luggage at once?

They need their boarding passes to check luggage. So you have a couple of options. One hang around and wait, two don't print in advance. Althought usually they will just reprint if someone shows up without a boarding pass.

One other note. I recently flew with a group and we wound up all having to check in together for reasons I never really understood. This was on NW and since we had one confirmation number we were one group and had to do the luggage and everything together.

I have done online check in for Southwest and checked luggage at the Skycap several times. When I do, I just tell them that I already have my boarding pass. They never ask to see it.

It may depend on the airline whether they need the pass in hand or not.
