Ok I have lots of questions so I apologize in advance. I made a late ADR for Ohanas for Sept. If wishes starts at 9 and our reservation is 8:40, any chance we will be able to see the fireworks? Can everyone see them or only a few tables? I really did not want this late but thats all they had.

Also with Ohanas, is there anything the kids can eat. Mine will not most likely the choices they serve (the meat) but I may be able to get them to eat the potatoes lol Are you able to get more of everything (shrimp, potates) or just the meat skewers?

I am worried we will be way rushed with that late of an ADR. any thoughts on this?

Last but not least... when do the kids eat if they are up doing activities (limbo, races) ? I have read stories about how fast the food comes and how people felt rushed. Put that with a 8:45 pm time and you se why I am extremley nervous!! HELP reassure me please...

We were seated at the back of the restaurant and couldn't really see the fireworks. The food was very good but very rushed.

We usually have to wait for our table past our reserved time. This may enable you to watch before you go in. You can also ask for a window table if you don't mind waiting, again.

Yes, they will bring more of anything you want. I believe I have read that the potatoes were replaced with a noodle dish a few months ago. I am pretty sure you can order off of the Kona kid's menu if you don't think they will like the food.

We've never felt particularly rushed.

The kids get up and down periodically during meals. The "cousin" on the Ukelele will let everyone know when its time to play.

This is a must do for our family every trip. You will love it.

In my experience (we eat there every year, usually twice), if you get there early (say 8:00 or 8:15 for your 8:40 ADR) and ask for a table with a view of the fireworks, they'll do their best to accommodate you. You may have to wait a little longer, but it's worth it. It's a spectacular and unique view of Wishes. And the soundtrack is simulcast over the restaurant's soundsystem, so it's a real "total" experience.

Have fun!

PS -- The food is AMAZING at that meal. Try everything!

Get there early for your ADR - and ask for a table by the window so you can see the fireworks. Your timing should be good for the fireworks. They pipe the music in - it's nice. If you can get there around 8:15 or so - tell them you know you are early, but wanted to request a table by the window - they'll do the best they can to accomodate.

We did NOT feel rushed when we were there. The kids got up periodically to dance and participate - but it was part of the fun. We took as much time as we wanted for our meal. We were in no hurry.

They have selections for the kids like mac & cheese, burgers, grilled cheese - things like that.

Thank you all so much. The thought that we "may" get to see the fireworks with such a late ADR does make me feel much better.. I was really hating the idea of a 8:40 dinner with two kids lol. Maybe now I won't keep trying to change it.

I really appreciate all of your advice!

I agree with the other posters - we got to Ohana's early during our June 07 trip and told them we wanted a window table. We were seated right by the window in the corner and had a perfect view.

I can see how some people can feel rushed - the waiter we had was very quick to ask if we were ready for the next course. But we kept telling them to bring more and more of the salad, wings, and shrimp. After awhile I think they caught on that we weren't in a hurry.

Other people have said that they enjoy watching Wishes from the Poly beach - apparently they also pipe in the music there. I haven't seen Wishes from there before but considering it on our next trip.

Hello,
We had a window table with a perfect view of Wishes the last time we were at Ohanas. I must say, after seeing Wishes several times up close, it was a bit of a let down. The place was packed and crazy busy. We could barely hear the music and the lights didn't dim. Most people around (behind) us didn't even know the fireworks were going on. People were laughing and talking. Like I said kinda a let down. If you get a table and can see it consider it a bonus, but don't plan on it being your only time to see Wishes.
