How often and how late into the afternoon/early evening do the live shows at MGM run? Are the shows every hour? Does it depend on the show? Can you see any of the shows in the afternoon/early evening?

I can't answer all of your questions, but I can say that from what I remember, the live shows are scarce to non-existant in the late afternoon/evening (at least at the time of year I went). You can check the schedules here:

We went in July and the one thing I did remember was that the 1st showing of Beauty and the Beast wasn't until 12:30. We saw Ariel and Playhouse Disney 1st thing in Morning. Sorry - don't remember how late they ran.

Great thread! Lora, thanks for the link!

If anyone can remember OCTOBER schedules I'd be really greatful (such as late evening, Beauty and the Beast early mornings--whatever :) )!

Most shows end by late afternoon so there should be a good few hours between the last show and the park closing.

I was surprised - not in a good way - when we were at MGM the last show for Playhouse Disney Live on Stage was at 5:00 and the park was open until 9:00.

So I would check the show schedules as soon as you arrive.

Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade: 5:30PM

Fantasmic: 9:00PM, Tue and Wed 2nd show at 10:30PM

Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage: 12:15PM, 1:30PM, 3:30PM, 4:45PM, 6:15PM

Playhouse Disney - Live on Stage!: 10:00am. 10:45am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:45pm, 2:30pm, 3:15pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm

Voyage of the Little Mermaid: (Sun, Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri) From 10:30am to 7:15pm; (Tue, Sat) From 9:30am to 4:40pm and from 6:40pm to 7:05pm.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular: 11:00am, 12:15pm, 1:30pm, 3:15pm, 4:30pm, 6:15pm, 7:15pm.

Who wants to be a millionaire - Play it! 10:30am, 11:20am, 12:25pm, 1:15pm, 2:05pm, 3:05pm, 3:55pm, 4:45pm, 5:50pm, 6:40pm

October schedule is out on the Disney web site. The Stars and Cars will either be 4pm or 3:30 depending on when you go. It seemed to me that alot of shows aren't open very early in the morning either. There seemed to be a lot of dead time between shows.

Yes, they have the hours of when the parks are open for Oct, Fantasmic, and Parade time (it's 4:30 the first week at least). No shows yet though--does Disney post the show schedules?

I saved the schedule for last October 6-12 which might give you an idea of what to expect this year:

B&B 10:30a 11:45a, 1p, 3p, 4:45p

Indiana Jones 10a, 11:15a 12:30p 2:45p, 4:45p, 6p

Playhouse Disney 10a, 10:45a, 11:30a, 12:30p, 1:45p, 2:35p, 3:35p, 4:45p, 5:30p

Mermaid Daily from 9:50a to 5:45p

WWTBAM: 10:30a, 11:20a, 12:20p, 1:10p, 2:15p, 3:15p, 4:30p, 5:30p

Thanks for all of the very helpful responses! We are planning on hitting MGM one afternoon in Nov. and I was hoping we would still be able to see some of the live shows! It looks like we should be able to fit in at least a couple!
