This will be our first time at this resort. I have a couple of questions, can you actually fish in the canals throughout the resort? Is there a place to rent the fishing poles? Also, about loops for the cabins, is there a more preferred location, as far as the scenery goes vs. easily assessable. I was wondering, according to the map, loops 2100, 2300, and 2500 have a canal that runs behind them, is it close, or doesn't really make a difference. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!:dance3:

Fishing is catch and release and I imagine you can rent the equipment you need from the bike barn or marina.

Many people prefer the 2500 loop because that's where the quiet pool and laundry are located.

Remember to bring basket coffee filters, small cups for the bathroom, salt and pepper, and perhaps a cookie sheet for frozen pizzas or even cookies! I love to bake up some themed Pillsbury ones at Disney, even for my now adult kids.

I love the cabins.

Thanks! I'm very excited. If you think of any other "can't do without" information, please let me know!:santa:

We loved the cabins, our first two visits to wdw we stayed at the cabins.
One year we stayed in the 1500 loop and loved it. It was close to the pool and we were also able to walk to the Pioneer hall and skip the internal buses. Don't remember the scenery (I mean there were woods) though.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the little creatures (bunnies) in the evenings. We had one waiting in the driveway on more than one occassion. We really loved the cabins, except for the size of the beds and because of the internal bus system and even the external system as well. Make sure to visit both Outposts, each one has some different items. Make sure to see the Electrical Water Parade each evening, I think at 9:45pm (they will tell you the time in your check in brochures).

If you have time, also go to the Nightly Camp Fire Program with Chip and Dale and visit the stables at the front behind the bus stops. There are also a few horses at the stable in the back near Pioneer Hall. There used to be a petting zoo, but that is gone now.

If you are using the buses to the parks, there are some that leave from the front of FW and some that leave near Pioneer Hall. Also, take the boat to the MK, that is alot of fun.

You might want to go to the camping forum,it is all about Fort Wilderness. Also check Allears at www.allearsnet.com ,you will find all about the cabins including a list of what is in the kitchen. Have fun, the cabins and the Fort are wonderful.
