Questions about breakfast @ Carnation Cafe

We love the Carnation Cafe and I'm thinking about booking reservations for breakfast if I'm lucky enough to snag the earliest time slot. A couple questions for you experts...

1. If reservations are @ 8am and the park doesn't open until 9- how do you get in?
2. With an 8am reservation do you think we would be done to be able to start our park day right at 9am opening?

Any other breakfast tips/hints/or favorites that you have?

Someone told me that DL does not do PPO except for character breakfast.

You generally go to the gate on far left for reservations. That said, I don't think they take reservations prior to park opening. If you can snag an 810a reservation, double check park hours.

Thanks for the information! We really like to start our day early in the parks, so if reservations aren't until after park opening then we would do something different for breakfast. I'll check into Plaza Inn.

What our family likes to do is eat at Carnation on our MM day, with a later reservation. It's usually enough food to allow us to have a lighter/later lunch or skip altogether. We'll get a 10:00 or 10:15 reservation, which allows us to maximize those early hours, but still have a great breakfast.

The above pp's are correct. No pre park opening breakfast as Carnation Cafe. Only the Minnie and Friends breakfast at the Plaza, and only on MM days. So only on Tues, Thurs or Sat you can book the Plaza for one hour before general opening, or in otherwords, right at the start of MM/EE.
