My family and I will be staying at the Beach Club Villas in January, in a 1BR, for the first time and I have a few questions about the layout.

1) Looking at a map of the Beach Club, it looks like the villas are in a separate building and not connected to the Beach Club hotel. Is this right?
2) Is the check-in for the villas in the main hotel or is there a separate check-in for the villas?
3) Is there a separate entrance for the villas that makes Epcot closer than the regular Beach Club?
4) Other family members will be staying in the Beach Club but they are non-DVC so I'm assuming they'll be staying in the non-Villa Beach Club, does anyone know if they put non-DVC folks in the villa studios for people just renting rooms?

Sorry there are so many questions but this is our first time and we're curious to know the "lay of the land!"

Thanks in advance!

1) yes it is a different building.
2) Check-in is at the same spot in the Beach Club.
3)yes there is a seperate entrance to BCV. There is (as I remember) an exit on the far end that is somewhat closer to EPCOT (you take the first path on your right coming back from Ecpot... at least that's how I found it the first time).
4)Typically they don't (since they wouldn't get daily mousekeeping, etc at the Villas.

Have a GREAT time. We loved the BCV when we were there.

really? Isnt it like other DVC resorts? Maybe I did not understand the question.

If they booked BCV cash, they will stay at the villas and get full mousekeeping. If on points, no daily mousekeeping.

If someone booked the beach club resort, they would obviously stay there (not at the villas). Both are different.

BCR = Beach Club Resort, non DVC.
BCV = Beach Club Villas, DVC Resort

Some points of note.

People that stay at the BCV on cash do get daily mousekeeping.

So there could be non DVC members staying at BCV and paying cash and they will get daily mousekeeping.

If you are renting vacation points from a DVC member for a stay at BCV, then you will stay at BCV. Whether it's a studio or not depends on the reservation that was made on your behalf. Since you are staying on points in this case, you will not get daily mousekeeping unless you pay extra for it.

If someone books BCV for cash through Member Services, it is treated exactly as a points stay. If they book BCV for cash through Disney Reservation Center, it is treated as a Disney reservation and they get daily housekeeping.

There really isn't a separate entrance to Epcot from BCV. But you can walk along the sidewalk alongside the far outside edge of the BC to get to the International Gateway instead of walking through the BC Lobby to the sidewalk that leads to the International Gateway.

I think what thepops is saying is that if someone reserves a standard room at BCR they don't put them in a studio at BCV (which is what the OP was asking). I suppose they could, but it would be very unusual. And if they did, they'd get daily housekeeping anyway as a cash guest.
