I know several of these questions have been posted but I was looking for some other answers.

Has anyone done assigned seating at the Dance Hall? if so how did it work?

Also has anyone done or seen the dance hall with linins and chair covers? is that even an option?

We were planning on having 2-4 large tables on the dance floor and the 4 seaters everywhere else? how does that work has anyone ever done it?
Do people get stuck sitting upstairs? We have 150 people.

And what did you use for center pieces?

Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. My daughter is also interested in ADH, I believe "Malibelle" had her reception there and her pictures are beautiful. hopefully you can find her planning journal and take a look at her setup. Good Luck.

I am getting married at SBP and when we were trying to decide between the dance hall and ballrooms our coordinator informed us that the dance hall isn't really good for sit down receptions. They mainly use the tall bar tables and its more of a buffet/cocktail reception. This could be wrong, its just what she relayed. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the compliments on the pictures. I did have my reception at the ADH and it was fantastic. We had seating arrangements and used 2 big tables and the rest 4 tops, we had 100 people. The cocktail hour was upstairs. The atmosphere is great, its not just a boring ballroom where you really have to dress it up to look different. Yes, the food is not served at the tables but the buffet was great, we had a carving station and a pasta station. Its not like a help yourself buffet. There were cast members working and they went around to the tables and cleared them. Everyone one loved the variety of food, there was so much! I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. And yes, I was one who wanted the traditional sit down dinner at first but this set up made for people to mingle, no one sat at thier seat the whole time, there was so much activity going on. The decor was great and since its a night club the lighting was cool when it got darker that you wouldn't have had in a ballroom.

I don't know if that information you got is correct....There are no tall cocktail tables in the dance hall. Only over in the bar area area are small tables which we didn't use. We used large round tables and 4 top tables. We had the optionto use all large round tables that sat 10 people if we wanted. Of the several coordinators and assistants I met, this was one of thier favorite places to have a reception.

Malibelle, Thank you so much for the info! I didn't even know that we can change out the 4 seaters, I thought we had to use them. I bet it would look really nice with all tables for 10! We are having about 150 and my mother is worried about assigning seating when they are such small tables, so its good to know their are other options. and thanks for letting me see your pictures they are wonderful!! and gave me lots of ideas of what things will look like! Thanks again!

Not sure if its still true, but when we used the ADH for our reception, we could add several 10 top tables, but we also had to utilize the existing seating - unless we wanted to pay Disney $2500 to move the exisiting tables. We opted to add two 10 tops, and use the exisiting seating for our 74 guests. The Dance Hall was a great place to have a reception, and the buffet is fabulous! Disney makes it a very classy event, and very delicious!

Malibelle~ thanks for the info! I'll definately be asking my coordinator again about the info..because you are right, it would look a lot nicer with the lighting in the dance hall, but we didn't want everyone at 4-tops or bar tables. Thanks a million! :)
