Birnbaum's 2005 WDW guide says that Rafiki's Planet Watch may undergo changes and may get a new name. Has it changed? If so, what's it like now?

Birnbaum's 2005 WDW guide also says that Flights of Wonder may change too. Has it? I love birds and I wanted to see Flights of Wonder.

If we only had time for either Festival of the Lion King or Tarzan Rocks which would you recommend for children ages 8, 3, and 1 1/2?

Flights of Wonder is still there. At least it was 2 weeks ago.

Wow, do you really have to choose btwn Tarzan and Lion King? They are both sooooo incredibly awesome......

Rafiki's Planet Watch houses the Conservation Station, petting zoo and envoronmental exhibits. It is neat.

We don't have to choose. I was just wondering if our time is limited (may be), which should we try for? Also, which may be less frightening to young ones?

I've hear great things about Festival of the Lion King and tepid reviews about Tarzan Rocks; I just saw a show today on the AK and they described the Tarzan show as inspired by live rock shows.

I love both shows, but Festival is in VERY close quarters with the performers and very big floats so if your kids are scared by either of those I would be careful. It also had the infamous Disney Fog during some parts.

and ,<g> means grin I think.

Personally, I think Festival of the Lion King is the best show at WDW, and Tarzan Rocks only moderately entertains me. If I only had time for one, there's no question as to which one I'd choose!

Never seen Flights of Wonder - no comment on that one

Conservation Station (in our family's opinion) is okay, but if you're short on time, it's okay to skip.

we love both these shows. My son was entranced with FOTLK aged 1... and has only just got into Tarzan (well aged nearly 4, he decided he wanted to BE tarzan!)

For younger kids I would say Lion King is more kid friendly..
however we couldnt choose now between them. A trip to AK is not complete without them both!

I'd vote for Lion King! But then again, I've never seen Tarzan.

Tarzan is pretty entertaining. Way better than it is given credit for but it still isn't as good as FOTLK.

We saw Flights of Wonder for the first time ever and it is typical Disney. It doesn't sound nearly as good on paper but the execution is phenomenal. Meaning it is way better than you would think it would be. :flower:

Lion King for sure!!!!!!! We have seen it many times and it is still our whole families fav.

Lion King!! Best show in WDW (since they got rid of Hunchback at MGM). I think Tarzan is the worst show...we actually thought about leaving in the middle of the show but didn't want to be rude.

Same here! Festival of the Lion King - hands down. Best show in "the world!"

If you could only do one and knowing you could not do the other...Stick with The Lion King. That is so much better. Tarzan just didn't do it for us. Not saying I wouldn't watch it again. Maybe it was because DW and I were tired from our experience at TL in December and then off to AK...

Another vote here for Lion King. We sat down on the first row and my 8 y/o GD had some great interaction with the performers. Tarzan was just OK. In fact like the other poster said if it hadn't been rude we probably would have left during the show. My GD said it was boring and there were better things to do elsewhere.
