Questions about 270 BCV points for 6/18-6/25

Hi - We vacationed at BCV this past June and I fell in love with it. Since DH didn't go, I had to resist the temptation to sign right up for the DVC - but he's coming this June (18th through 25th)!!

I did have a couple of questions for the experts as well...

Anyway--any advice on the best time to get the points? Are the "prices" going up after the first of the year (in terms of the point/night rates) to your knowledge?

Do the $/point prices tend to increase the closer you get to the time of your proposed trip?

Is the time of my proposed vacation unlikely to be available if I wait until after the first of the year?

I'm hoping this is the last year I will need to buy someone else's points - hopefully DH will love it as much as I did and we can join the club (so to speak)

Please feel free to repost your rental needs on the Rent/Trade Board.

Since each rental transaction is an individual arrangement between those involved, there is no pattern for these things. The later you wait to find a rental, the availability will diminish- but that usually has no effect on the rental cost.

Point needs for DVC resorts have been unchanged since 1996 and are already set thru 2005- so there will be no change after the first of the year.

Did you fall in love with DVC or the BCV? My reason for asking is that DVC is no longer selling BCV and are now selling Saratoga Springs Resort. If you want the BCV you will either have to buy a resale or go on a wait list with DVC.

If you are going to rent points for next June, and make the reservation in January, it may be harder to get where you want to stay because at 7 months, owners at any of the DVC resorts may make reservations at any resort. November 25 will mark the 7 month date for when you want to go next year.

No but an availability at a resort is harder to find as you get closer. Again, once you get inside 7 months, it becomes more of a gamble.
