A NPC or (non-playable character) is one that the game controls. It's not run by any person but is typically an interactive character within the game. Examples of this in VMK include Esmerelda, Ned, the Yeti, etc. There are 6 currently in the game and surely more will be added in time.

Yeti, Dragon, Pirate, Ned, Esmerelda, Phinneus, Ezra, and Gus
