We booked a 2 BR for the 17-26 of June this summer at Saratoga Springs. Since the Resort won't officially open until early May, at the bottom of our confirmation it says... "If by any chance the resort is not open on the desired date, you will be moved to a resort of equal value." 1. Has this ever happened to anyone? 2. How big is the chance that it might happen? 3. What are the alternatives? Thanks

My guess is that is that it will open on time. Disney Vacation Club members got invitations to a big grand opening on May 27th. So don't worry about it - enjoy!!

In the unlikely event they are not open at the time of your stay do not worry. I don't know what resort Disney would put you in, but they usually do very good things for displaced guests.

Two years ago they closed CBR to renovate the food court. They initially offered guests another moderate resort. If anyone (mildly) complained they often got upgraded to a deluxe for only a little more money. Many got AKL. DW and I got the POLY for only $6.00 per night more than our rate at CBR!!!!

Can't guarantee the same exact deal for you. But based on this and reports of what Disney did for guests when POFQ closed I'm fairly certain you'll love any alternate arrangements.
