Hi All,

I have searched and searched and read the free dining thread but I just can't figure something out. Was hoping someone can help me out. We're going to book 5 nights at WDW from the 1st-6th Dec as part of our big USA trip. I've seen through the historical dates that it's hopeful free dining would become available for these dates. But what I can't figure out is if the rates showing at the moment would be rack rate?! Ie. if the $1080ish that I'm getting quoted on the Disney site for 3 adults for POR for those dates would be what we were still paying if free dining came out?! Does anyone have any idea?? I know it has to be rack rate (and a package which is fine, we'll buy the tickets as well) so just curious. Since I've budgeted about $1200 for accomm for disney I'm thinking if free dining comes out then we'd be saving heaps compared to what I was expecting.

If you are pricing it out on the Disney website with just accomodations and at least 2 day tickets for your December dates, that is what free dining (if it comes out) would cost you.

Just remember that sometimes not all catagories are available, i.e. standard - they may make you upgrade to a higher catagory, i.e water, river or royal rooms.

I went to the website and 5 nights at POR with 3 adults comes to $1052 in a standard view room for just the room. This is rack rate, which is what you would have to pay in order to get free dining. You would also have to buy at least a 2 day base ticket for everyone in the room to get free dining.

Unfortunately, this year Pop Warner is scheduled for Dec 1 - Dec 9 and Disney hasn't offered FD during Pop Warner week in the past.

I didn't know about Pop Warner week, thank you for that. I've looked into it a bit and am hopeful that since it says the first full week of Dec generally is Pop Warner week that it shouldn't start til the 2nd? So maybe free dining would be offered until the 1st and from what I understand as long as your checkin date is within the FD period it would apply for the full stay? Am I kidding myself, is there no chance at all of FD?!

Last year Disney offered FD through Sat Dec 3. This year Sat is Dec 1 so there's hope.
