Since the night you need is a weekend/higher point night, the chances are better than if you needed a weekday night. However, IMHO, it's definitley not a sure thing, so make a back up plan.
My advice is to book something for that last night now - whether it is for points at BCV, or for cash at BWV or elsewhere if necessary. FWIW, the chances of a member cash discount being available right now for early December, 2004 are virtually zero. I would be surprised if CRO even has a cash ressie there at rack rate right now.
As soon as your 7 month window opens, try to add the night you need. It's possible that standard view will be available. Many of us BWV owners are reserving BW view instead of standard view this year. So the possibility of getting at standard view at 7 months is greater than it has been in the recent past.
If your night isn't available when you call , get on the waitlist. There will be a good chance of that working since you have 7 months and you want a weekend night. You will already have a back up in place so no need to worry about a place to stay or making air or car reservations if you need to do that.
Some other options:
If you are willing to rent points, you could get a BWV owner to transfer the points you need to your account ahead of the 7 month window. The chances of getting the last night improve SIGNIFICANTLY if you do that. Even if the night wasn't available when you called, you'd be a lot higher on the waitlist than if you have to wait for the 7 month window.
A BWV owner may be willing to trade reservations with you. SAB is a big draw for non-BCV owners. No cash need change hands if you make a weekend night ressie for the BWV owner and he/she makes a reseration for your last night in the same season.
Good luck - hope it works out. I think it will.
