Question: Transportation around LAX/Redondo Beach/DL

DS has the honor of marching with his 9th grade band at the Rose Bowl Parade next year What an exciting opportunity for all of these kids.

So, we are flying into LAX and staying at the Portofino Hotel & Yacht Club in Redondo Beach. The hotel sounds fancy. We also want to stay a few extra days at the Grand Californian DVC.

I was checking car rental rates and since the trip will be over New Years rates are quite high. Honestly, except for hotel transfers (LAX>Portofino>DL>LAX), we really do not need a car.

What are the options for transfers? Is a cab reasonable? A shuttle service? Also, are there free transfers from DL hotels back to LAX? I am used to Magical Express in Florida, but do not know if DL has something like that.

LAX to Redondo by cab is reasonable. A shuttle from DL to the airport is fine.

The only problem would be getting from Redondo to DL, as it's about 45 minutes to an hour. Perhaps a one way car rental to get there? I think there's an Enterprise car rental in the area.

BTW, the Portofino is in a great location. Walking distance to both Hermosa and Redondo Beaches, and a great area to rent bikes or go running.
