We are going down for our first SW weekend :darth: Is it worth going both days (Sat & Sun) to MGM? DH and DS (9yr old SW fanatic!) are planning this.

DD (the other half of the evil SW fanatic) and I are going on a shopping spree at Downtown Disney for one of the days and doing other girl stuff! princess:

So, is it worth it to go both days to MGM?

Thanks and have a great night!

I would agree with Crazy Kanka. I like star wars a lot, and it's not to be missed, but once a year is enough for me.

We were able to do it all in one day. Be prepared it gets really busy !

Is there any significant difference in going on Saturday as opposed to going on Sunday?

I saw that it starts on May 19th...a Friday. We get back from a cruise that morning, should we go then or wait til Sat. or Sun.? Thanks!

We also did it in one day. We went back the next weekend to just see some other stuff. It's AWESOME!@!@!

Does the whole park get busy or just the area where SW events are taking place? We were planning to go for the rides (TOT and RNRC) and dinner but can only go during a SW weekend.

We are going on Friday the 19th.

SWW is fun, but it can be done in one day. IMO it doesn't make the park super crowded. I mean the lines can get long for pictures w/certain characters but will there be a super long line for the Great Movie Ride or Voyage of the Little Mermaid? probably not.

"Really busy" is an understatement...MGM becomes a mob-scene!!! One day of it was enough for me!!

How can we find out if it starts on Friday? We fly out at 8p on Sat night and stayed for the day for star wars (Sat) but if it is only on the Weekends may not want to fly out til Sunday.

I think it is only on the weekend. Have they posted any official dates anywhere and who will be guests?

They have posted the official dates, not the guests (that will be another month and a half).

The days are Fri - Sun, May 19 - June 11.

I would highly reccomend doing Friday over Saturday as it is slightly less crowded. Sunday is also the night EMH at MGM so that may up the attendance over a normal day. It just seemed that yes, the fanatical locals were there, but the casual fans did not take a day off work on the Friday to be at the park
