We have a two bedroom reserved at VWL for Easter Week. In August, we stayed at the BCV and were really liked being able to walk into Epcot. We have spoken with the CM's and there is availability at BCV for this week. We are considering splitting our week with four nights at VWL and three nights at BCV. I know people split reservations all the time, but I am interested in knowing how smooth they feel the transition is, i.e., luggage transfer, etc. Any advice would be appreciated!

Due to a last minute cancellation and rescheduling, we had to split our stay between BWV and POFQ. There was no trouble at all. They moved our luggage and all we had to do was go to the park for the day, take a bus to POFQ and check in.
Easy...

NO problem; as Horizon stated, your luggage will be transferred effortlessly. We love BWV for the same easy access to Epcot:D

Been back for a week from a trip where we moved twice!
Once from ASM to VWL where we did all the moving :(
The second move was from VWL to the WL andBell Services did the move :)
When I called Bell Services, a Bellman was at our room in 6 minutes and this was at 11:00 am on a Friday
As always the level of service at WL & VWL is superb:)

SimplyMagical,

DW & I own at VWL, just did an add-on at BCV and are considering the same scenario as you are. 1/2 our trip at VWL and then move to BCV. This would have been great for the F&WF during our most recent trip!

Thanks for the information. My husband was told that we could have a luggage moved, but we would still have to go to BCV in the a.m. and pre-check in?? Has anyone else had to pre-check in? We were hoping that we could have them move our luggage, we go to a park, and then go to BCV around 4 to check in.

Last spring we moved from VWL to BWV. If I remember it went pretty well. I believe in the AM we had bell services come to our room and take our bags. They took them to BWV sometime during the day. We went to a park all day and checked in that evening at BWV. At check in, we gave them a card that bell services had given us and they brought the luggage up in about an hour.

We did this a couple of weeks ago because we wanted to try out both the BC and the VWL. In our opinion, while it was wonderful to experience the variety of the two totally different resorts, it was not worth the packing and unpacking time spent.

Now, we had no clue (until reading the prev posts) that we could have bell services move the luggage from one resort to another, but I still don't think we will do it again.

So, I guess the bell hop at the first resort doesn't recv a tip? Or does everybody wait to vacate the room after he's been there?

We have a late june 2003 vaca booked for 8 nights at VWL and are thinking of splitting it for 4n VWl & 4n BWV or BCV. I know they will move our luggage but what about our food? will they pack that up or will if we bag it up store it so it doesn't spoil? This will decide if we split -stay at VWL - or switch to BWV or BCV at the 7month window.

We split our stay between VWL and BWV last July. As Margaret64 said it is a big hassle having to pack everything up and DH has said that he doesn't want to do that again! However, when we packed our food we put everything that needed to be refrigerated in one paper sack and gave it to bell services. We told them that it needed to be put in the frig and they took care of it. When we arrived at the BWV later that afternoon, it was nice and cool.

Its not necessary to "pre-check in" to have your luggage sent over. They keep your luggage in the general holding area until you get your room, then you have to call to have it sent up. When we moved from VWL to BWV we simply called for bell services at VWL, let them know we would need our luggage taken to the BWV and when we checked in at the BWV we were able to have our bags sent right over to us.

We find its no problem at all to change resorts and have done it many times....even with small children. The only inconvenience is not having a room to go back to between 11am and whenever your next room is ready....which can be as late as 4pm. Which is also not a problem in most cases...though on our Jan. trip we had sick people in our party both times we changed rooms, so it was harder to wait than it normally would have been.

For your food...just pack all the perishables together and have it put in cold storage. When you call for your luggage be sure to let them know you have cold items too...they tend to forget and leave them in the refrigerator when bringing up your stuff! No problem at all.

We're changing resorts 3 times on our upcoming trip....love having that variety during our stays!
