Question regarding Quick Service Dining Plan

For those that have done the QSDP:

I've read that the children's and adult's counter service meals aren't treated differently on the QSDP. In other words, my son, who is under 9, doesn't have to order a kids meal & could use one of his counter-service meal credits for an adult meal.

Can anyone who has used the QSDP confirm this? Also, if you have any more experiences you could share from using the QSDP that would be great too.

Thank you.

The rules apply to the QSDP too.If there is a childrens menu you must order from it.

Your KTTW card will still state how many adults and how many kids are in your party. If a child's menu is offered, you will not be able to order more adult meals than your card shows.

In the past they have been pooled. As in there was no difference between adult CS meals and Child CS meals in the system that kept track.

People have been reporting that they are being told my CM's (when they ask) that they are now separated in the computer system that the CM can see but not on the receipts. Me thinks this is a little fib made up by management. But really there is no sure fire way to know unless you happen to KNOW a CM that works in a CS restaurant.

It's a hot button topic for some reason. Some people see this as 'stealing' from Disney. Some people are greatful for a way to 'optimize' the 'system'. My personal opinion is that it must not be that much of a problem otherwise Disney would have made the separation between CS meals loonng ago. I'm neutral either way - as I'm not here to tell people how to plan their vacations or lives. ;)

We just returned from WDW and used the QS plan. They do NOT distinguish between child and adult on the plan. Your receipt just says that you have xx number of QS meals left.

Our ds9 found the children's meals to be repetitive and limiting at times. The cast members usually let him order an adult meal if we asked.

It would be nice if you could use the credits for the meals you would like.

My kids will order from the kid's menus but I can see them getting sick of Mac & cheese and grilled chicken for every meal. I am not real happy about the side choices either. Neither of my oldest boys like applesause(offered at every meal) and grapes/carrots at every meal will get old fast.

I know there are other choices and we will use them whenever possible but the menus seem very similar in general. The option of them ordering something from the "adult" choices would be nice. Maybe Disney could make kid sized portions of adult meals for more variety??
