Question Regarding Pollen Counts

This year, everyone has been going on and on and on about how bad the pollen is. Several weeks ago, when the tree pollen was at it's peak, we were getting pollen counts close to 3,000 (mainly for oak).

It seems that everyone around me (including myself) is suffering miserably. There are days that I feel bad and I go home and watch the new and find that the pollen was "only 300." Yesterday, I was at an appointment with a doctor and she was suffering horribly. She said that the pollen was so bad this year and other doctors were telling her that since there has been no rain, the pollen is "very strong."

So, I watch the news last night and the pollen was only about 180. :confused3 So, I'm confused. Is the pollen strong (whatever that means)? Are they not accurate in their pollen reporting? It seems that way because there is pollen all over everything. But only 180?

The pollen tracker I watch doesn't give numbers, just ranges, very high, high, medium, low. Allergies have been HORRIBLE this spring. I have never taken allergy meds before and I have been taking them this year. DS13 has terrible allergies and has had a bad spring. Everyone I talk to has said the same thing.

What about the mold counts? That is what gets me feeling sick.

I haven't seen any mold counts on TV yet. Also, I tend to think of mold occurring more when it's rainy but I could be wrong on that.

Our mold counts here in Texas has been very high a few times. That is what makes me feel like bleeech.
We have had lots of rainy weather so far this spring.

Yes, I suppose you would have mold. You have the heat and humidity levels that we have yet to get in the middle eastern states. Also, I was told that usually by this time of year we have gotten 12 inches of rain on average but this year, we have only had 3 or 4 inches. So apparently the pollen is having it's "heyday"!!!
