Question regarding old Park Passes

Someone gave me 2 old 7 Day Park Hopper Plus Passes (park entrance completely used) and told me that there were 4 days of Water Park entrance left on each pass. Does anyone know anything about these passes (they were purchased in 99 and 02)? I vaguely remember passes that had park entrance and separate water park entrance but never had to purchase tickets since we've always booked a package with length of stay park entrance included.

We are now DVC members and are going to WDW in August of this year (possibly December and August of next year). I am thinking of purchasing Annual Passes and aren't sure whether to purchase the premium Annual Pass (with water park entrance) or the regular annual pass which is somewhat cheaper. We generally visit the water parks at least once per stay and figure if these passes still have water park entrance, I can save a little money (probably to spend it on souvenirs).

Thanks. :confused3

Marie A....

Don't know if this helps or not, but we actually had 7 day park hopper passes that we purchased in 2001 and still had 3 days of "extras" on them that we didn't use. I was hoping that they would still honor them now that they have switched over to the MYW tickets. In Dec. '05, we stopped at Guest Services in MK and had them all checked out. They did verify that all 7 days had been used in the parks but that 3 days for BB, TL, or PI still remained. They also check our complimentary passes that we were given for Wide World of Sports Complex and they were also still good...we had received them in 2001 also.

I think you would be safe not purchasing the "extras", but you may want a few more people to give you input before deciding. Good Luck! :thumbsup2

I know at one point park hoppers with water parks had an experation on them. Like they were only good for 14 days after first use. They did change this and unused water park passes do not expire (on non expireing tickets). I'm not sure what year they changed this but it hasn't been too long ago. The ones from 1999 might be questionable?

I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong on this, I believe all tickets did not expire until Disney introduced the Magic your way tickets in January 2005. The pre 2005 tickets that have remaining "plusses" on them will still be good. We used tickets with the plus option from 2001 to enter Blizzard Beach on a trip in January 2005. Hope this helps.

The first hopper passes with water park fun had unlimited water park fun for seven days once usage of the pass began. Unused theme park days did not expire. Later Disney had the hopper plus passes (sold through 1/1/05) with a finite number of water park admissions. For these, unused water park admissions also do not expire.

I forget when the changeover happened.

By requiring that inquiries about what is left on tickets be handled only on site Disney can ferret out and confiscate some of the tickets that were given or sold to guests as partially used. They can interrogate you as to when you previously used the tickets and your answer has to match the in house records that are kept.

Thanks for your help. The tickets were purchased at the gate so I don't think there is any personal information attached to them.

I guess I'll go with the regular AP and hope for the best. :thumbsup2

The last series of tickets where the water parks were available for only the first seven days of ticket usage were the World Hoppers tickets that were discontinued in 1998. The PHP's that we knew so well until 2004 were introduced in late 1998 as the replacement for the World Hoppers.
