Looking at the new summer itineraries, exciting.

May I ask: why is the above excursion (NP07) so expensive ($329!)? From the description, it sounds like a mini bus tour, free time, optional guided tour.

Seems like most similar bus excursions are in the $ 100-170 range, even if 8+ hours.

Can someone help me answer this? Has anyone been on this excursion?

Thank you in advance!

:confused3 Agree that it's a ridiculous price! We did tour NP41 (Amalfi by boat and the Splendour of Sorrento), it was very well organised and we had a lovely time. I'd thoroughly recommend it. Oh and it also included a delicious lunch.

fyi, if you are ok with sorrento and/or capri, it's super easy to just take the hydrofoil from the port to either of these and diy when you get there. many from our cruise ship did it.

If you want to do this I advise using RomeInLimo or a privte guide. You'll get a car (mini bus and bus on that road - yikes) and stop and go whenever you like. It'll be close to the same price maybe closer to $400 but money well spent. Otherwise, I would take the hydrofoil over to Capri and as soon as you get off go get your return ticket. We booked Gianni's Boat and after that paid a cab $100 for the rest of the day to take us up the isle. Loved our day on Capri! It was heaven.

PS - I've also done the Amalfi drive coast and it's heaven as well. You really cannot go wrong here (unless you're doing Pompeii - do that at a later day after experiencing the beauty of this coastline). :) Positano is so breathtaking! We took it from Naples all the way down to the town of Amalfi.

Are the prices quoted by Rome In Limo per vehicle or per person? The original poster's quote of the DCL tour price of $329 appears to be a price per person, but I understood the Rome in Limo's price to be per vehicle. However, seeing the quoted post above, now I'm not so sure?

per vehicle...if that is per person that is ridiculous.

You can easily take the train from Naples to Sorrento. We stayed in Sorrento for a few days and took the train a number of times. It is cheap only a few euros and takes about 1 hour. You pass Pompeii and Herculaneum on the way at the base of Mount Vesuvius.
