Question regarding cruise check in at a WDW resort

I have a question regarding checking in. We'll be at WDW prior to the cruise, however, I'll be booking the land portion myself. At first we were going to take a limo to Port Canaveral on the last day of the land portion of our vacation and planned on spending the night before the cruise at Ron Jon. If I can just stay at WDW until the morning of the cruise and check in at one of the resorts, I'd rather do that so I don't break the Disney mode. Is this possible or is this perk only for people who have booked a land/sea package.

Sorry, you will have to check in at the port. I booked a land and sea separetly and couldn't check in at the hotel. You can only do this if you book a true land and sea.
Check in only took about 15 min. though. Get there early.
