I would like to do something special for my mom on her birthday. She will turn 50 while we are at Disney. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anyone who does this at Disney? Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks,
Melissa

Bumping this back up to page 1 because my mom will celebrate her 70th birthday (and first trip to WDW) while we're there and I'd like to know too. :flower:

we went during my fiances birthday back in 2003, i had the akl guest services have goofy (prerecorded) call the room one morning to wish him a happy birthday. i also ordered a bday cake for dinner one night at le cellier steakhouse in canada at epcot. you can do this at most wdw restaurants by request, for a fee, call in advance though. some places to celebrate a birthday/special events is chef mickeys at the contemporary fun atmosphere, a wdw dinner show - my dad did this for my mom years back at the poly luau they asked here on stage & then sang to all bday celebrants, or a firework cruise. we did this for a romantic evening one night on the illuminations firework cruise, we also ordered food & drinks through yc catering. fyi - they have a bday cruise package. also mention its a birthday at resort check in & at restuarants you might get nothing at all but sometimes a happy bday wish or treat, my fiance got morethan 1 cupcake & happy bday.

you could also just do something special like a wdw tour - dolphins in depth (we had a great time on this tour & got a great photo souvenir) or the backstage magic tour (did this with my mom years back & she loved it); recreation activity - hayride, parasailing or spa treatment - we do this every trip, very relaxing.

you can also buy some wdw related merchandise, like a personalized disney shirt through disneydirect.com or disneyinkshop aka zazzle.com for like $20, birthday pin or ornament at wdw or personalized plush through disneygram at disneydirect.com, floral bouquet or gift basket through disney floral.

hope these ideas help! hope your mom has a great wdw birthday!

Both my husband and I celebrated our birthdays at WDW in November (they're two days apart). The emphasis was on his, as his age ends in a zero this year. :)

We stayed concierge at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and did the Sunrise Safari one morning. At the Tusker House breakfast, they gave us each a piece of birthday cake. The safari and breakfast were wonderful.

There was also a birthday cake in our room when we returned on the day between our birthdays. Yummy!

This was an adult trip, so we did the Segway Tour at Epcot on another morning. That was especially fun and special, and added to the celebration atmosphere of our week.

I asked a friend of ours, who lives in Florida, to surprise him on his actual birthday. We were watching a parade at the Magic Kingdom, and up walked our friend! That was very cool, and he joined us for dinner that evening at Narcoossee's. We sat at a table by the window and watched Wishes. I had arranged for the restaurant to bring a birthday cake and special dessert tray to our table after dinner. Very wonderful. Sigh.... Later that evening we went to Pleasure Island and did a little club hopping.

We both wore birthday buttons on our birthdays (each park gives them out free) and it was really nice to be wished a Happy Birthday all day long.

There are many wonderful ways to celebrate a birthday at WDW. Think about what your mom might enjoy and what your budget can handle - all sorts of things are possible!

Have fun!
