Sorry - I know this topic has been discussed to death but I am trying to figure something out and need help.
If I have a use year/month of February and I want to go on a trip (DCL) in February '03 can I make the res 7 months in advance using the points I will receive February 1 '03 PLUS the banked points I have from year '02 PLUS borrow if necessary from the following Feb. 1st '04????

YES.

SInce you are in the Feb 2003 UY when are crusing that lets you draw from both the 2002 UY and 2004 UY.

We are doing something along those lines for an upcoming December OKW trip. So far it is the only perk to having a Dec UY I have found!;)

Yes you can. Except you can actually book DCL beginning 11 mo. before your departure day. So you could book now :o) You do have to pay the $75 non-refundable reservation fee in addition to whatever points are required for your reservation. DCL is the only part of the Disney Collection where you have to pay that fee.

Is the $75.00 per person or just a flat fee??? Do you get the transfers from Orlando Intl also or do you have to pay extra for those also??

You can make a DCL reservation with points 11 months from the sailing date, not the return date. (In comparison, you can make reservations 11 months from the check-out date at your home resort and 7 months from the check-out date at another DVC resort.)

And, yes, the points that you have at your disposal are the points that you would have at the time of sailing.

When booking a cruise with points, be sure you're certain that you want to cruise. If you have to cancel within the allowable time period, you'll get your points back -- but they'll be Reservation Points, not DVC Points. You can only use Reservation Points for cruises, Concierge Collection, Disney Collection, and Adventurer Collection. You can't use Reservation Points for DVC accomodations or II exchanges (because II exchages are based on your ability to book a week at a DVC resort).

If you know you want to book a DVC cruise, book now. Don't wait. Categories book up and become unavailable. And the best locations within each category are booked first.

Everytime I book a WDW/DCL trip it's practically written in stone with me -- I never make any changes except for perhaps a change of resort but never at the last minute so I definitely know I want to do DCL in Feb. 2003 -- but again what about the $75.00 fee?? A flat fee or per person?? Also, do transfers get included or are they a separate charge?? Thanks!!

$75 is a flat fee for the entire booking (the entire party, not per person).

Air transportation, ground transportation, and travel insurance are optional extras that you can arrange through DVC Member Services or on your own, whichever you prefer.

In addition to considering ground transfers through DCL, also consider one-way car rentals or towncar services. Depending upon the size of your party and whether or not you want to have a car in Orlando before or after the cruise, a towncar service or a rental car might be better than DCL bus transfers. (You can even consider a combination.)
