Hi, My wife and I have three contracts - a master contract at the BWV, a small add on at the BWV and a small add on at the AKV. We want to sell part of our DVC to raise cash for our home purchase. We'd ideally like to sell the master contract because of its size/amount of money we need for the house.

Does anyone know if there are any negative effects from selling the master contract? does one of the other two become our master, does our member # change (anything else i'm missing)? Is it an easy process or do you need to work closely with DVC to make sure it works well?

Thanks in advance for the help and advice.

Other than the loss of points and potential loss of a home resort priority there are no other negatives effects I can think of. We just did this earlier in 2007 by selling 232 OKW points and keeping the 100 (4*25) pts in that UY. You'll essentially not have a true master contract from what I can see but there are no issues that is caused by that situation. We are actually in the process of adding our daughter to the deeds and therefore the contracts but haven't made a final decision on whether to add her to all 4 or just one and let it become totally separate then transfer the points every year to go with the other 75. Once I've made my final decision and completed the process, I'll post our decisions and experience.

Thanks for the help Dean. Glad to hear your membership remained hassle-free once you sold the master contract.

Many have done this and I don't recall anyone saying they had a problem with the remaining membership after selling the master. My first plan was to add on only 25 points then sell all else but I caved on the price incentives and bought 100 to get the lower price per point.
