Question: Re Post #???

My post number is really low. I know I had more posts than this, however, it had been a long time since I posted. I lurked but didn't participate so much because I was travelling alot and we weren't going to DW (it was too depressing)!

Do you lose them if you don't participate for a while?? Not that it's a big thing...just curious. Actually I was a member before 1999 but had to rejoin because I transferred everything to my home computer after layoff and couldn't remember my login.

Anyone know????

there have been a few occiasions in the past couple of yrs where post counts were lost. It had to do with transferring over to a new system or something like that.

Post counts have been lost, but all in all, it is just a number and in reality holds no true meaning. That is unless there is a prize I wasn't told about.

At one time there used to be some contests.....a long time ago to get more participation but, if I remember correctly, people started posting just to enter instead of to really assist others. Of course, I find the more white hair I get the less memory I have!

I was more concerned about losing due to non-activity...if that's the case, I'll stay active on a more regular basis, instead of lurking. More a badge of honor really than a contest.

Last year I somehow lost all of my postings (counts) as well. I had a couple of hundred posts and did not post on the boards for about 3 months and the next time I posted it showed like 40 posts or something close to that . I was upset but hope my new post count doesn't "re-start" again. It's ok, I luv these boards, Regards, Lulubelle

LOL, the post counts mean nothing more than you have spent tooo much time here. They don't get deleted because you haven't spent time here. Just changes to the boards. Some people lost some and others didn't. no biggie

I think it's time for me to lose a few thousand again.
